    Mix/Mastering second opinion?

Thanks! I also just noticed there's a few spots the lead was slightly out of tune so that's not helping either. My ears were pretty much fried by that point so I guess I didn't notice that last night.. :zombie: And yah I've always had trouble bringing out the drums in a mix.. Here comes...

    Mix/Mastering second opinion?

https://soundcloud.com/woodbproductions/animals-as-leaders-kaskade-cover-clip Edit: ^^^^ Ok, so I've always gotten angry with not being able to get a decent amp sim guitar sound out of my setup so I would just end up settling with mediocre.. Well I finally got fed up with it and spent the last...

Critique My Tutorial 'Tightening up Low End'

Well as a start, I use a program called "Camtasia Recorder" and if you tweak the settings you can get some pretty decent quality.

Critique My Tutorial 'Tightening up Low End'

Thanks for the input guys! I'll be sure to be a lot more thorough in future videos. And I didn't have any side-chain compression, I mainly use a tube leveler and a multiband eq/compressor for the mastering track and figured that the whole mastering step should be left for a video on it's own so...

Synths on the left, guitars on the right!

Wow! That sounds fantastic. I do also agree its left heavy as well but out of speakers/monitors, its definitely sick :)

    Deathcore mix needs work

I just listened to the before and after tracks and it sounds much much better. Just my 2c, I would like to hear a more "full" sounding snare. Maybe slightly scoop out some of the lower snare freq on the guitars and/or slightly blend in a meatier sounding snare under the one you have already...

    Amplitube 3 Mixtest (anger)

I'm definitely digging the tone man, sounds great on the higher notes. The chugs and low notes IMO are a little muddy though.

    Guitar rig5 Metal mix

^^ yeahh.. Try bypassing the cab and using Impulses. I just started using them a little while ago and they make a world of difference over the ampsim cabs.. I use keFIR and the guitarhack Impulses and they sound great in comparison.

First Attempt at mixing - Original Metal Song

I agree, definitely a good first mix! My only input would be to raise the mid-high frequencies of the entire mix. (1.5k-15k)'ish?

    Need some mixing advice

When the kick and snare hit, the volume of the cymbals drop dramatically. Try taking the overheads off the compressor so when the kick/snare hit they are not affecting the OH's.

    Need some mixing advice

definitely ease up on the compression, the cymbals are getting choked out by the rest of the kit.

Do these guitars sound out of tune? need help ASAP

Compared to the distorted guitar trail at the beginning, the clean guitar is slightly off. Also, the clean chord near the middle sounded a little too muddy for my taste, maybe backing off a little low end on the clean IMO?
