Lemmy and the Rush document Beyond The Lighted Stage are both good. The Metal Evolution series that was mentioned earlier is also really good.

Evile vs Lost Society

I liked them both, the new Megadeth and Anthrax songs. After Th1rt3en and Super Collider, no big expectations on MegaDave, but sounds good so far. Same goes for the new Anthrax song, sounds very promising.

I'd recommend these: Angra Annihilator Lamb Of God Overkill Testament Exodus Savatage Metal Church Pretty much basic stuff, those should be good to start from. Also the bands that were listed above.

Which Roland kit you have now? Roland HD kits are good for the price, but if you have some Roland e-drum kit already, I don't think that buying a HD-3 kit would be much an upgrade. I'd look for those Roland TD kits (e.g TD4 or TD11-KS) instead. There's a quite big difference between TD and HD...
