    EQing clean guitars?

Wow, thanks to all for your answers. Very useful. I have no Strat or Tele but my Ibanez Jem has a single coil in the middle. Next time I will try it with this one. Thanks, XoechZ

    EQing clean guitars?

Hello! I have read much here about EQing hi-gain rhythm and lead guitars. I understand the basic concepts of low-passing and hi-passing them and I already get a quite good sound. But what about clean guitars? I mean clean electric sounds. This typical 80's metal ballad clean sound. How is...

question about tracking (d.i. - amp/cab sim) volume

Clipping is the worst thing to happen in a DAW. Be sure that your signal never clips. To be safe, stay a good ammount below 0.0 dB. How far below 0.0 dB was part of my question. Brandon says -3 dB is low enough.

question about tracking (d.i. - amp/cab sim) volume

Thanks Brandon! I have set my D.I. as neutral as possible, means no additional gain. That's why it peaks at only -18 dB in my DAW. I thought this gives me the most natural results (for tone), because this is the same level as I would plug my guitar cable into a real amp. Is this wrong...

question about tracking (d.i. - amp/cab sim) volume

Hi guys! I have a question about tracking guitars in Reaper. The incoming D.I. signal peaks about -18 dB. Then I use an amp sim and a cab sim on that track. First I tried to balance the pre and post volume, so that the track also peaked about -18 dB after the amp/cab sim. But that was way...

New member, first post - help with melodic guitar style (satch style)

Hi again! So, here is the demo: www.xoechz.at/demo.mp3 As I said before, it's nothing special. It isn't even mixed. Just recorded it last night with headphones. I looped the rhythm part (first 4 bars) and improvised a little to it. Of course I have to arrange, re-record and mix it...

New member, first post - help with melodic guitar style (satch style)

Thanks for the fast answer! All I can offer in the moment is a little demo I recorded last night. Nothing special, but it has a little "Satch-touch" - at least for me. I will post it later this day when I'm back home. But my question was a more general one anyway. As you know Satch's...

New member, first post - help with melodic guitar style (satch style)

Hello Forum! I am a new member and this is my first post here. I have spent the last days reading almost all threads in this forum - at least those who seemed to be useful for me. There is so much information and great tips to discover. But there is one thing I want to know: I am...
