How does 4 notes per string make something harder? FYI check out Romeo's instructional video...he has examples of use of diminished scalar runs where he uses 4 notes per string.

Basically what you're saying is that you like Holdsworth more than Romeo. That's fine, but by what OBJECTIVE standard can you say that Holdsworth is technically better than Romeo? I don't think you have one, so your opinion is no more than someone else who says Romeo is better than Holdsworth...

Yeah, Dreamscape sounds closer to DT than SX. However, I'm glad you pointed these guys out! I had heard of them but never actually heard their music. It's awesome! Very similar to I&W era DT (which I always thought was DT's best work by far). They have the progressiveness of DT but more melody.

I was going more by Vinnie Moore's instructional video. He plays a B major chord, and then plays a B major scale starting at different notes over that chord to show the different sounds of the modes. So, yes, the mode is determined by the chord. I don't think we're all saying that a mode is...

I would say though after that they become pretty dissimilar...plus Yngwie sweeps each chord up and down while Romeo changes chords between up and down sweeps. I think the Bm chord progression used by Yngwie is a common classical chord progression but I might be wrong about that.
