its been cancelled. total bummer. i would have love to go. or even just see pictures. what a bad ass setting!

The 2008 edition of the Castle Festival, which was slated to take place July 1-5 at Smederevo Fortress in Serbia, has been cancelled. According to a posting on HELLOWEEN's web site, the festival was called off due to "the political situation and local incidents in the country."

I could have forecast something like this (or worse) happening. Country has been in turmoil since Tito died. Sucks for people that already bought tickets, fat chance of a refund.
