Hey, a friend of mine is having audio problems when recording video. She's got a camera feed and audio feed running into a VCR. The microphone is a clip-on and has a 1/8" plug. Her audio isn't loud enough. She said she tried using a 1/4" adapter and then running it to a preamp (mixer) but there was a lot of distortion to that signal. I haven't played with it yet, but before I do, are there any issues with 1/8" that I should know about? I've never used that size cable to record.

The only problems will come from using low quality cable, I have never had problems using 1/8" cables (I recorded a whole live gig with them once when no other connections were available and it came out fine).
