An idea from another forum I frequent, pretty cool and helps to better understand the variety of taste amongst members.

Basically, review and approve/disapprove of previous posters' tracks. Put your own shit on shuffle. Post first ten songs. Put in bold your favorite two or three of those ten songs. Easy enough.

Richard Pryor- Heart and Brain
Swans- Some Things We Do
Spa Music Collective- Great Vacations
Don Ross- Give Me Seven Reasons
16 Horsepower- Golden Rope
Dimmu Borgir- Nar sjelen hentes til Helvete
TLC- Don't Pull Out on Me Yet
Toadliquor- Gnaw
Carpathian Forest- Frostbitten Woodlands of Norway
Deep Purple- Nobody's Home

I don't really know any of those off the top of my head. Whatever.

Judas Priest - A Touch of Evil
Stormwarrior - The Holy Cross
Scenteria - Acts of Lunacy
Kiss - Kissin' Time
Tantrumn - This Time Alone
Elvenking - Not My Final Song
Gorgoroth - Carving A Giant
Limbonic Art - A Void of Lifeless Dreams
3 - Monster
Bathory - A Fine Day to Die

No dude, Just like make some sort of commentary, promote discussion. You don't have to listen to anyone's songs, if you don't know anything that's cool. But if you like or dislike something say so.

The main point is to post your own shit and bold your favorites.

I'm probably not a good pick for this game. I have new iTunes (my previous HD broke) so there's like 45GB of music and I don't import my favorite stuff first, or import all the cds I own first. But oh well, the first ten with shuffle:

1) Alois Hába - 6 Compositions 16-tone harmonium or String Quartet - no. 6 (Stamic Quartet on the Complete Hába Quartets disc)
2) Ludwig Van Beethoven - Symphony No. 8 in F Major, Op. 93 - IV. Allegro vivace (this is from the Chailly complete set with Gewandhausorchester, on Decca. A man needs his Beethoven set. I also have some old ones with Toscanini)
3) Johann Sebastian Bach - Double Violin Concerto In D Minor - II. Largo Ma Non Tanto (the Hilary Hahn Bach cd, it has a glorious cover too, with her face on it :Smug: )
4) Merzbow - ____ 1 (on Spiral Honey. I like to have some Merzbow in case I can't sleep and have to numb my brain)
5) Ralph Vaughan Williams - Quintet in D major - II. Intermezzo - Allegretto (played by Nash Ensemble, part of the Early Chamber Music DCD)
6) Johann Sebastian Bach - Concerto No. 2 in F major, BWV 1047 - II. Andante (from the Brandenburg concertos, Academy of Ancient Music, Richard Egarr)
7) Gustav Mahler - Symphony No. 5 in C sharp minor - Part III - IV. Adagietto. Sehr langsam (Very slow) (with fucking Leonard Bernstein and the Vienna Philharmonic on DG. he has also recorded Mahlers with NYphil and some with Royal Concertgebow. I need Mahler symphonies in mah iTunes, although I prefer 1, 2 and 7)
8) Dmitri hostakovich - String Quartet No. 14 in F-sharp Major, op. 142 (1972-73) - I. Allegretto (Emerson set on DG)
9) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Piano Sonata No. 4 In E Flat, K 282 - I. Adagio (Glenn Gould, I love Gould's Mozart, fuck the repetitions :) )
10) Alois Hába - Suite for Bass Clarinet and Piano, Op. 100 - IV. Allegro animato (the Centenary three disc collection)

Coincidentally, I got no metal in the first ten, I have quite a lot though.

Oh yeah, on 11 I got Hellhammer, the intro from Satanic Rites. :P

Nice shuffle Onder, I'm also a Gould fan. Show them how to fuckin do it man. Commentary optional.

This was a tough one to pick favorites in. I really can't recommend Sons of Otis enough for stoner fans, but there's some tight tracks in this shuffle.

Sons of Otis- Losing It
Sons of Otis- The Pusher
Saint Vitus- Bitter Truth
Ghoultown- London Dungeon
Irepress- Daniel Sen
Return to Forever- Majestic Dance
Flametal- Silencio/ Scintilla
Graveyard- Don't Take Us for Fools
Deep Purple- Space Truckin
Stevie Ray Vaughan- Couldn't Stand the Weather

Ha, Flametal. Mannn, that band really shouldn't exist. It is truly a shame that they don't actually incorporate the flamenco guitar style in a less gimmicky way.

Revelation - Then and Again
Girls' Generation - Dancing Queen
Broken Social Scene - Handjobs for the Holidays
Girls' Generation - 낭만길 (Romantic St.)
Girls' Generation - 별별별 (☆★☆)
Childish Gambino - Difference
The Antlers - No Windows
We Save Strawberries - Something About You
Asphyx - Scorbutics
Belenos - Noz Pagan

I have no idea how Girls Generation showed up three times...

I've still not heard anything from Belenos, and I know they are well liked on this forum. I'm so lazy about listening to new stuff.

EDIT: Mort, I looked up Girls Generation, and it showed up 3 times because you're either secretly genius or you're a deeply repressed homo.

Lantlos-Neige De Mars
Jungle Rot-Their Finest Hour
Ingested-Endgame
Bee Gees-Don't Wanna Live Inside Myself
Immortal-Damned In Black
Dark Funeral-Hail Murder
1349-From The Deeps
Danzig-Tired of Being Alive
Burzum-En Ring Til Aa Herske
Burzum-My Journey To The Stars

^ Some really good tracks on that. The Bee Gees are the shit! Fun thread.

1. B.B. King - Monday Woman
2.Dark Castle - I Hear Wind
3. Summoning - Mirkwood
4. Gontyna Kry - Krew Naszych Ojcow
5. Wojciech Kilar - Moving to the Ghetto Oct. 31 (From the movie The Pianist)
6. Falkenbach - Asa
7.Beethoven: Fidelio, Op. 72 - Overture
8. Necros Christos - In Love with Ereskigal (Temple)
9. Ascension - Grant Me Light
10. The Atomic Bitchwax - Gettin' Old [Live]

That was surprisingly more diverse than what I thought it would be. The Pianist track and that Necros Christos track are super short so it makes picking top three a little easier… but goddamn this is hard! Can't i choose everything?

Props on B.B. King, Falkenback, Beethoven, Ascension, and The Atomic Bitchwax. Hell of a fuckin shuffle for sure!

Witchcraft- Her Sisters They Were Weak
Amy Winehouse- Just Friends
Tech N9ne- Worldwide Choppers
Ahab- The Sermon
Weird Owl- Up From the Root
Type O Negative- I Don't Wanna Be Me
Paco de Lucia- Chanela
Jex Thoth- The Four of Us Are Dying
Ron Jones- Away Team Ready
Black Sabbath- Neon Knights(2007 Remaster)

Oh fuck me, this isn't fair. Thank fuckin god that Neon Knights remaster kinda blows. I just chose the three I've listened to the most of.

I don't mind Type O or Witchcraft, but haven't listened to them a lot. Love Black Sabbath but it really doesn't need to be remastered. Cannot stand Winehouse.

Funerary_Doom, I saw The Atomic Bitchwax play a poorly promoted gig to 20 or so people 2 years ago. It was quite embarrassing, even if I can say I've seen the Bitchwax give 100% to a nearly empty room.

I'm only shuffling my metal folders. I don't want to take things too far off topic. ;)

Diamond Head - Makin' Music
Metallica - Ain't My Bitch
Stahlhammer - Der Zerbrochene Traum
Strikemaster - It's Not My Fight (live)
Candlemass - Through the Infinitive Halls of Death
Razorwyre - Suspiria (live)
Tankard - Atomic Twilight
Samurai - Die or Deliver
Samson - Dream
Motörhead - God Was Never on Your Side

I don't listen to music on shuffle either, but it's not hard to just switch to shuffle and skip through ten songs quickly.

Re: Bloopy, a lot of names I know but not many familiar song titles tbh. Through the Infinitive Halls of Death is decent, but not one of favorites on the album. I've never heard Diamond Head's Canterbury although I'm pretty sure I still know that song somehow; pretty decent melodic hard rock. Samurai is a band I never got around to checking out, but that song sounds really good. Getting some Thin Lizzy vibes here, strong swinging drumming ala Downey and legit guitar harmonies after the verses as well. Will definitely check them out further.

My ten:

Norrin Radd - Four Lights
Realm - Knee Deep in Blood
Crypt of Kerberos - The Ancient War
Tuxedomoon - Desire
Lord Bane - Louange Au Prophete / Fawns
Abigor - Bloody Cross
Sepultura - Amen
Ohio Players - You and Me
My Sister's Machine - Steamy Swamp Thang
Pantera - Power Metal

Ok, yeah, I thought it would be obvious that this thread only works for those that have their collection stored in MP3 form somewhere.
