Not sure how many UFO fans are out there but I just noticed today that the band is embarking on a US tour in 2008. Not a lot of dates so far but here's what I've found. Perhaps more will be added later:

10th April - Poughkeepsie - NY - The Chance
11th April - Sayreville - NJ - Starland Ballroom
12th April - New York - NY - B.B. King's
13th April - Akron - OH - Tangiers
15th April - Pittsburgh - PN - Rex Theater
16th April - Nashville - TN - Wildhorse Saloon
17th April - Milwaukee - WI - Potawatomi Casino
18th April - Medina - MN - Medina Entertainment Center
19th April - Chicago - IL - House Of Blues
23rd April - Dallas - TX - House Of Blues
26th April - Las Vegas - NV - Boulder Station Casino
27th April - Ventura - CA - Majestic Ventura Theater
29th April - tba
30th April - San Diego - CA - Brick By Brick
1st May - Santa Ana - CA - Coach House
2nd May - Los Angeles - CA - Key Club
3rd May - Santa Cruz - CA - The Catalyst
4th May - San Francisco - CA - The Independent
7th May - Seattle - WA - El Corazon
8th May - Portland - OR - Aladdin Theater
9th May - Coeur D'Alene - ID - The Grail

The band line-up is apparently:

Phil Mogg – Pete Way – Paul Raymond – Vinnie Moore – Andy Parker

As a fan of UFO I hope to see them this tour. Too bad Michael Schenker's "on and off" relationship with the band is still "off" because I'm a fan of his. Vinnie Moore is certainly no slouch though and has some damn good chops! In any case, UFO have put out a lot of great tunes over their career so I'm hopeful this will be a good tour with lots of the old goodies thrown in.

This was recently posted on BWBK...

UFO keyboardist Paul Raymond has issued the following update:

"Anyway, now we’ve put the festive season behind us, we can start looking ahead to the upcoming US tour in April and May. We haven’t toured in the states since 2005 as I recall, which is a real shame - I’m hoping we have not been forgotten.

Since that time we lost Jason Bonham to FOREIGNER (and LED ZEPPELIN) but we’ve got the original and inimitable Mr. Andy Parker back, and hopefully (although nothing is for definite yet) Pete will be able to join us this time. So there we are, almost a full complement of the classic line-up, raring to celebrate the milestone 30th Anniversary of the now legendary Strangers In The Night. I’m really excited about coming back, it’s been way too long. "

SYIH, Michael Schenker gave up his rights to UFO a long time ago. I doubt that you will ever see Michael on the same stage with UFO again.

As for Pete Way, he was denied entry in the US on the last tour. He was denied entry in the US on the tour before that. I do not think he will be allowed entry this time. Sooo, we may have to deal with that bassist from The Lizards again.

When I saw them last tour they played in '05 Jeff Kollman (guitarist extraordinary) was on bass and did a great job of course

How sad they are reduced to playing the Medina (a bowling ally with a crappy low ceilinged "ballroom" in the outskirts of the twin cities urban sprawl (I'm sure I can still find some horses within a mile of the place).
I hope people show up....but I might just get a more personal performance than I deserve.

As a long-time fan of UFO, I am pleased that I will finally see them live for the first time. I live in an area where UFO (and many other bands) don't tour, South Carolina. I will get the off-chance opportunity to see them live this April at the Poughkeepsie, NY show only because my family and I will be vacationing that week in New Jersey. Poughkeepsie will only be about a 1-1/2 hour drive form Sparta, NJ! I would like to catch the New Jersey and NYC shows as well, but my wife is pissed that I'm seeing UFO once during our family vacation. She relucantly agreed that I could go one show, so I'm grateful and I will not to push my luck.
