Really wanted this one, but I must have missed it.

I believe Century Media had this one. There were 2 in the box and I watched from afar until Saturday before I leapt. I just wish I would have bought the Kadaver cd and found a copy of the 1st 2 Orchid cd's. I have the iTunes digital copy, but I really like the actual cd.

Bloodbound – In the Name of Metal
Sinister Realm – The Crystal Edge
Sinister Realm – World of Evil
Spiritual Beggars - Earth Blues

Where did you pick these? They were on my "buy" list, but never saw them anywhere (and I browsed each vendor's stuff). Maybe there were very few copies and I was just too late...

But man, the fact that you bought 128 CDs at PP colors me really impressed. :worship:

Heaven and Hell had the Sinister Realm cds, but they only had one of each.

CM Distro had Spiritual Beggars. I'm guessing they went quick.

Haha. Yeah, this year for the most part I went on a spending freeze waiting for the fest, so I know I was gonna get a bunch. However, I didn't realize I would go quite that overboard.

Oh yeah, forgot where the Bloodbound was. I know CM Distro, CD Inzane and Exploding Neds all had various Bloodbound cds.

* grumble*
If I'd seen the Witherscape disc, I'd have bought it. Who had it?

I'll post my haul a bit later, after I figure out why that 'puter is no longer responding to mouse input. Keyboard yes, mouse no. :bah:

I had the new Spiritual Beggars DCD, few copies, believe I came home with one.

CM Distro had Witherscape. It's a deep and cool album that will take many listens to fully appreciate.

It's Dan Swano. He could be reading the phone book and it would still, ipso facto, rule. :)

Didn't see it at CM, but I might not have recognized it.

I refuse to quit!
If my wife wasn't the sane voice in my head I think I'd get close to 100 cds.
Last years haul was 77 with her telling me to take it easy.
This years was 43...46 if you count the free comp cds.
I stayed to the list until the sales popped up, then went for the ones I need to complete collections.
Some year its all gonna go to hell and I'll but everything I don't already have.

Not pictured like 8 UDO reissues.

Plus the following on vinyl:
Witherscape - The Inheritance
White Wizzard - The Devil's Cut

PP-haul-2013.jpg

Discs in no particular order:
A Sound of Thunder - Time's Arrow (great traditional bluesy metal that would be comfortable some number of years in the past, huge pipes on Nina)
Ashes of Ares - S/T (I was hoping to love it more than I do, I think I'm just growing away from this style, sadly)
Ayreon - The Final Experiment (Special Edition)
Cynthesis - DeEvolution (good solid prog, but hasn't fully grabbed me yet)
Cynthesis - ReEvolution
Divinity Compromised - A World Torn (very nice heavy powerprog from Chicago)
Haken - The Mountain (yep, very proggy, very great)
Illusion Suite - The Iron Cemetery (big leap in writing over the first, this album makes me smile a lot)
In the Silence - A Fair Dream Gone Mad (great prog in the vein of Riverside)
James LaBrie - Impermanent Resonance (beats the piss out of DT)
Jolly - The Audio Guide to Happiness, Pt 2 (better than part 1 imo)
Lalu - Atomic Ark (great disc like its predecessor)
Lalu - Oniric Metal (wish I had known of this disc when it came out in 05, fucking amazing)
Leprous - Bilateral (oops, put these discs upside down)
Leprous - Coal (I listened to their first album and hated it, but these two are pretty damned good. I may have to go back to the debut later)
Seven Kingdoms - The Fire is Mine (essential for fans of power, especially for fans of female fronted power, Sabrina has serious power in her little frame)
Soilwork - Figure Number Five (I have had this album for a long time but not owned it)
The Safety Fire - Mouth of Swords (a big step forward for the oddball British lads, already knew I loved this one before I gave up the cash)
Witherscape - The Inheritance (a must for fans of Swanö)
Mindcage - Our Own Devices (they were a fest sponsor, and their tune sounds pretty good, so there was no way for me to pass that one up)

Book:
Mean Deviation (Four Decades of Progressive Heavy Metal) by Jeff Wagner. I don't agree with everything in it, but it's a very informative and fun read.

Shirts:
Mindcage - Our Own Devices
PPUSA 14 festival shirt

I really wanted to get a Soilwork shirt, but air travel limited what I could reasonably make out with. Probably for the best, as I was right up against budget.

Edit: Somewhat obviously this is a copy/paste so some of the notes are pretty duh. Just didn't want anyone to think I was being a patronizing tool.

So not to be whiny here... but did anyone else's festival shirt shrink from XL to L (if that) after just one wash? I'm so bummed that I can't really wear it now. I guess the kids can wear it and and go advertise for us :)

Just an FYI- To my knowledge, the shirt are the same quality as in the past. I wash in cold and do not dry on any of my concert shirts for the reason you stated. I will ask the shirt company next year though to confirm.

I do have an XXL left if you want to purchase another. You could wash that the same way and get it to an XL?

My XXL did get a bit more snug than usual this year, but it's because the place where I first washed it is jank and the hot/cold lines are reversed so there's no cold/cold wash option. C'est la vie. Maybe it'll help motivate me to be less fat?
