New Blind Guardian album's out. Virgin Steele & Symphony X albums this year.

Few things interesting coming out in the beginning of the year.

Serious Black debut is on my way, new Night Demon just came out have to order it. Nothing else on the horizon so far, but I expect these to be released along the year:

FROM BEYOND (ENFORCER)
CONCRETE GARDENS (TONY MACALPINE)
GODS AND GENERALS (CIVIL WAR)
THE KILLER INSTINCT (BLACK STAR RIDERS)

Blind Guardian new album is terrible, they have lost everything they once stood for. Another band less to throw money into.

SB is pretty good. Night Demon is ok but Visigoth does a better pastiche of the glory days of metal.

Sweet Lynch has some real catchy tunes but the new Venom was a real surprise.

Yeah, I have to check the new Venom deeper. The single they released is pretty good.

Gonna check Visigoth, thanks for the hint.

P.D. Downloaded the album, nothing exceptional. Try to be epic metal, without the power of bands like Omen, Griffin, Warlord, etc. Still prefer Night Demon, Enforcer, Axxion, Air Raid, but I left the door open in case of for these guys.

Need to listen to the new UDO. Like the song from the video. Serious Black is pretty badass, but anything Urban Breed is on is usually so. Wish it were a little heavier, though.

Killers the veteran French metal band came with a fantastic slab this year: "Le Baiser De La Mort" (the kiss of death), so far my #1 album of the year.

30 years on the run and no signs of slowing down.

Having passed half year, so far the most memorable material will be:

Michael Schenker’s Temple Of Rock – “Spirit On A Mission”
Tarot – “The Warrior’s Spell”
Atomik Destruktor – “Unnatural Disorder” (best debut)

New Symphony X was quite good. I miss their classic sound, but the new record is pretty solid.
Cain's Offering - Stormcrow (Basically Stratovarius, especially since it has Timo K on vocals).
Tony Mills - Over My Dead Body (I heard this album in demo stages and it really took on a life of it's own by the final mix. One of his best since Siam, and many songs are very Siam-sounding).
Magic Kingdom (I forget the title, but even without Olaf it was really good).
Kiske-Somerville - 2015 album (Perhaps my favorite album front-to-back this year so far).

I need to check this one out.. I heard some reviews that were well... not to good. But if it is even close to Siam level then I have to get it. I really liked "Vital Designs"

Here are a few of mine. Not necessarily old school or metal.

Abnormal Thought Pattern - Altered States of Consciousness (Instrumental prog metal from Zero Hour Tipton brothers)

Al Di Meola - Elysium (Al Di is rocking again!)

Beardfish - +4626-COMFORTZONE (Prog Rock)

Benjamin Clementine - At Least For Now (Singer Songwriter)

Echolyn - I Heard You Listening (Prog Rock, wonderful album )

Kamelot - Haven

Mother’s Finest - Goody 2 Shoes & the Filthy Beasts (New hard rock album from the true old school)

Native Construct - Quiet World (Prog rock/metal from new band. Damn good)

Pantomimed - Searching For Eternity (Bulgarian prog metal 3th album)

Pat Travers - Retro Rocket ( Like Al Di, Pat is hard rocking again!)

Sammy Hagar & The Circle - At Your Service (Van Halen/Monstrose/Hagar songs live done well)

Steven Wilson - Hand, Cannot, Erase (Prog rock pure genius)

Symphony X - Underworld (If you have not heard of Symphony X crawl back under the rock you came from) ;)
