We did it! With AFM Records we now got the partner we wanted for the next step in our career. We are very happy to be part of the AFM family and expect nothing but a very successful cooperation.
We're already working on the first thing: we've been in the Gate Studios since a few weeks, working on our new album "Roots" (work title) with Miro and Sascha. The album will make your skull smoke in October and end the worldwide recession with a bang! Before and after we already have a lot of shows planned, like the co-tour with Primal Fear we are very excited about. We finally managed to unite the Swabian power and spread our dialect into the world...
Many new news, the first tracklistings for the new album, some specials and details you will learn HERE! And nowhere else!
Brainstorm are storming in 2009... heavier than ever!

See you soon,
Andy

I'm quite confused... I see some inconsistencies here!

http://www.rockarea-festival.com/de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=54&Itemid=66 tells me Brainstorm plays at the Loreley on August 22nd!

Hope Brainstorm will appear on the stage (at the Loreley!) :)

If nothing seriously happens i will probably visit this gig as well... :headbang:

Looking forward to see some good shows this year!

Finally some news.

I hope this new deal helps the guys to spread more the name of the band in the wind of heavy metal :D

Again I say, I hope the new album have more fast songs, more memorable riffs and more diverse lyrics. I love Andy's lyrics but they can be a bit...err.. boring sometimes, since they always go around personal feellings. I want lyrics about everyting if possble: War, Love, Death, Historical Moments, Battles, Society, Fantasy, Horror, etc

No luck here again. Might try to see them in Spain.

I can´t believe, no austrian date?

To be able to discuss the setlist with facts i took notes of the Bochum playlist... in case anyone is interested, here you go:

Forsake what i believe
The leading
Highs without lows
Blind suffering
Shiver
Shivas tears
Worlds are coming through
Conjunction of 7 planets
Falling spiral down
Doorway to survive
Hollow hideaway
All those words
Fire walk with me
How do you feel

Quite well balanced setlist in my opinion, but theres some places to improve... Should have been more Memorial Roots and less Downburst in it.

cheers
Sebastian

- Again no songs from the first 3 albums

I totally agree... At least Ambiguity should appear a bit more often.

Hungry and Unholy would be very great.

For the short Setlist: they were not Headliner, when i was in Bochum 3 years ago when Brainstorm was headliner, i think they played something around 20 songs including Holy war, Dont stop believing, Weekness sows its seed... very great.

I'm still waiting for the perfect gig though (which would probably be with Bochum 2006 playlist at a better location)

regards

What is, from my point of view, a bit of a shame...Primal Fear may be the bigger act, ok, but considering the bands are both from the same region (more or less) and knowing each other, it should have been possible to do a fair co-headliner tour...

I was "hoping" that now, after Jaded Heart were kicked out (ugly story), Brainstorm would play longer. But I guess that might be a bit difficult in "political" aspects, concerning the insults from JH about slot lenght etc...

My thoughts exactly. And I believe in the beginning the tour was even advertised as that.

Ok, short review from the Rockfabrik gig!

Setlist - same as in Bochum (tour set, no surprise)

Andy was ill, but did a really good job though (Ralf from PF as well..38,5°C he said *g*).
Concerning BS I can't tell much about sound, because from the edge of the stage you can't really judge sound.
Primal Fear's sound was ok so far, Snare Drum too loud, vocals quite thin, due to illness i guess...

Lot of people, the venue was quite "full", merch sales seemed to go well - good for the bands.

Support act was "Tieflader", a local german combo playing a bit more modern kind of metal with german lyrics, but cool music anyway.

I enjoyed the show, the crowd and the guys on stage as well.
Had some talks about several topics (gear, showbiz, future) with Andy and Mille after the show. Even about "critical" aspects like album sound etc., but since I am no kind of boulevard journalist I don't want to write everything down here the guys said, hope you understand that ;). In short: they are aware of these discussions and have their opinions about it. They care, but they also have their points of view and stick to them.
Good news: there are indeed plans to play some co-headline show in spring next year, but nothing definitely booked so far (referring to Andy).

All in all: cool evening.

PS: Short words concering slot lengths. BS played abot 75minutes, PF about 90 or so...so I think we can accept the tour as an "co-headliner". It seems as if co-headliner tours always have some unbalance in slot length etc. Had the same impression already back in 2002 when Rage was co-headliner for Primal Fear.
