I just checked my join date for this place and coincidentally it was 25 years ago today. I think it was in the first few days of ultimatemetal.com existing, as I was on the old Maiden Downunder forum before that. Where has the time gone? I guess a lot has happened in that period and life has changed a lot. I miss the old days though.

A very impressive achievement for the Ultimate Metal forum to be going for that long. I don't remember using any specific forums before 2002. I still have access to my Newgrounds account from Nov 2001, but I only have 17 posts on the forum there. They have sections with over a million posts across tens/hundreds of thousands of threads. It's surreal that it all still exists. Guess I'll make a few more posts.
I try to stay youthful in spirit and stave off the threat of old age, but sometimes I falter. I went for a 4 hour walk on a very hot Xmas Day. Two problems:
- Nearly 4 months later, my right knee still hasn't fully recovered.
It was finally pretty good when I did 1 hour of walking yesterday, but today I used it for leverage while opening a door from an angle and it's a bit of a weirdo again.
- My eczema then flared up and seemingly caused alopecia areata. Around 2/3 of my hair fell out over the past 2 months. 2nd time it's happened, and based on last time it could be another 2 months before new growth really sprouts if it's going to. The previous time was in 2020, so it seems my eczema is a predictor of global crises!
I fully intend to turn 116 years old in the year 2100. I'm a cynical optimist. I like the idea of being an unbreakable spirit with a stubborn refusal to die. I'll keep you updated on how I get on...
