I have a 5150 combo that's making a popping noise periodically . I re-tubed from eurotube and the thing sounds great, but, once in a while it makes this popping noise just out of the blue. Even when not playing, the amp will make the noise periodically. The noise sounds almost like as if I pulled the cord out of the guitar real quick while the amp was on. (pop, click click). It happens at high and low volumes.

I have tried different guitars, cables and AC power and still it happens. Any clues what this could be? Any guesstimating costs on repairing it? Thanks

Try running a cable from the fx loop send to the fx loop return, I've heard of problems happening there because of corroded/dirty contacts on the loop.

Did you replace both pre AND power tubes?

Really? That's wacky! Will that mess anything else up?
Can this be repaired?
Yes, full re-tube.

Thanks for your suggestions.

this probably has nothing to do with it but on the our tour everyone was sleeping in the van one night and the windows were soaked with condensation, you could see it on all the amps and tubes and for the next day my amp was popping for hours...probably a bit of useless info but you havent got wet tubes have you?

...probably not
