If you look at his current endorsement situation and the fact that people "in the know" (so they say) in the music biz point towards Fender, AND the fact that these amps share parts that are widely seen on Fenders and the EVH logo that is seen on Ed's current Chrvel based stuff, I think it's a given it'll be Fender. I could be completely off base, but I don't think Peavey was really considered a good company for Ed to go with back when the 5150 first came out, and they weren't known for high gain amps were they? I was really young then, and just learning how to play, but I remember his amps and Peavey got no respect when they were released and now they are staples in the metal scene. And they are still abhorred by tone snobs everywhere. So, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to hear this amp comes from a company not known for their high gain amp prowess...You gotta start somewhere, right?

I will stick up for Fender. Anyone try the Fender SuperSonic? It rocks. That being said, there's no way anyone is going to top the sound of the 5150 and 5150 II. Best amp of all time.
Dude, the fucking SuperSonic rocks ass dude. Perfect for mildly heavy sounds. Not for metal, but anything slightly less heavy it's a winner...and a TS-9 in front of it...shiat, it's a great sounding amp. The thing I like about it the most is that it's a DIFFERENT sound, but still a great sound.
