Don't worry Matt, Steve gets a kick out of doing that - i've fallen victim too many times now

Anyway.. people are placing their bet on Fender making the amp, but some think it could be Crate. Any new son that?

Most ppl are talking about fender cause they are supposed to launch a new line of fender evh signature guitars, along with a signature duncan pickup.
But all that is just rumours, besides the fact everything fender has done amp-wise sounds like shit.

No, fender don't make shit amps, they just don't make hi-gain metal amps. They make arguably the best clean/mildly dist amps out there.

You're right, I was gonna edit that cause I missed the "higain" bit...for rock and milder things they are a classic, but I had the tonemaster in mind, sorry

If you go by rumors on the net, then it will definitely be Fender. If you look at his current endorsement situation and the fact that people "in the know" (so they say) in the music biz point towards Fender, AND the fact that these amps share parts that are widely seen on Fenders and the EVH logo that is seen on Ed's current Chrvel based stuff, I think it's a given it'll be Fender. I could be completely off base, but I don't think Peavey was really considered a good company for Ed to go with back when the 5150 first came out, and they weren't known for high gain amps were they? I was really young then, and just learning how to play, but I remember his amps and Peavey got no respect when they were released and now they are staples in the metal scene. And they are still abhorred by tone snobs everywhere. So, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to hear this amp comes from a company not known for their high gain amp prowess...You gotta start somewhere, right?

Who knows for sure, though.

I will stick up for Fender. Anyone try the Fender SuperSonic? It rocks. That being said, there's no way anyone is going to top the sound of the 5150 and 5150 II. Best amp of all time.

Dude, the fucking SuperSonic rocks ass dude. Perfect for mildly heavy sounds. Not for metal, but anything slightly less heavy it's a winner...and a TS-9 in front of it...shiat, it's a great sounding amp. The thing I like about it the most is that it's a DIFFERENT sound, but still a great sound.

Someone told me this new 5150 III is the same thing as a 5150...only with a dedicated clean channel. Now if that's true...

:OMG: :OMG: :OMG:
