6/6/6

I'm purposefully not listening to Number of the Beast today. It'd be too tacky. Just like I never listen to the relevant Rush album on 21/12.

I never listen to that Rush album on that day either.

I've never actually heard it.

Well you should go and hear it now, shouldn't you? Rush absolutely rule and unlike many bands of their vintage, they're still releasing solid new material and not resting on their laurels.

For starters, I also recommend Moving Pictures (1981) and Retrospective I & II. If you'd like to try a live album, grab Different Stages.

Note that the two Retrospective albums only cover their stuff up til the late-ish 80s. Mercury love making money out of their Rush catalogue (the band switched to Atlantic after Hold Your Fire).

This is only somewhat related... but I was reading a review of the remake of The Omen and I literally spat out my dinner when I read this line about the kid playing Damien

"This kid looks like he’s ten years and a Morrissey record away from being king of the Emo Kids"

Haha nice one!

Yeah I've been meaning to check out Rush for a long time. Will have to do so....
