7 string heavy/epic gumpf. Critique on the tone would be awesome

Cool man. I have midterms this week, but i'll start working on this in-between study breaks and for sure later this week when I'm not cramming. lol.

I just tried loading up the tempo track, but Reaper doesn't like it. However, when I import the midi, it changes to 150 bpm and 4/4 time -- is that accurate? Is it 150 throughout the song, or are there tempo changes I should be aware of?

Thanks! :kickass:

This is kinda awkward but, from bar 93 to the second beat of 99 (so 99.5 sorta thing) it drops down to 130

Hmmm... could you try exporting the midi again? I believe you should have the option of embedding the tempo track within the midi file instead of it being a separate smt file. (In Reaper I can import a midi file, but can't import an smt file (which is Cubase I believe, right?))

If you can't do that, then maybe you could give more detailed information like, "Tempo starts at 150 and is in 4/4, but then changes to 115 and 6/8 at 0.00.250 in the session, and then to 130 and 3/4at 0.00.500 in the session..." or something like that? (although it might be easier to try re-exporting the midi with that information embedded already instead of having to zoom in super far to get the exact time position for every change. lol)

Does that make sense?

Hey matt, did you ever have a chance to look into the timing changes and possibly do a combined midi/tempo track? Or just telling me the timing marker for each change? Thanks dude.

No worries man. I've been busy with finals for a class I'm taking, so I haven't had a chance to even look at it again until now. Whenever you get around to it.
