this friday at 3:30 Am i was at home with my family when this nightmare beggins, this earthquake was 3 minutes long, this is my first time in an earthquake

Was TERRIBLE, there is no light and no hot water at home.. my family and friends are all fine..

i am in the house of my cousings that they have light, internet, water, food,etc...

where i (near my cousings ) everything is prety much "normal", but people are very psyco about replicas. last night was a good nigth ( we get some sleep without replicas expecpt at 7 am ) 2 days without sleeping

the earthquake was terrible, we all thought that we where on a big boat shaking and saking like the titanic without light and it was a hell.... my house is in prety good shape ( thnks god ) and the rest of my family too

will be posting updates when i get light at home

Glad you are okay man!

Hopefully you guys get as much help as Hatti had with their disaster. I know the US was already prepping to help you guys out yesterday.

For someone who lives in a potential collapsing building like mine on an eventual earthquake and who survived 4 major quakes here I can say I fully understand Felipe's state right now. Felipe if you need anything just ask man, just ask.

not to dilute chile's plight or anything, but it seems like they don't require near the amount of humanitarian assistance that haiti does...from what i understand, many of their structures are designed/built to withstand quakes, and their infrastructure, government, and economy seem to be much better equipped to deal with this sort of disaster and the resulting devastation.

Didn't quite mean it like that, but thanks for sharing.

honestly though, i'm pretty surprised at how well off they seem to be after this...i lived in SF during the 1989 quake, which was a 7.1, and it was total pandemonium. i'm sure life is pretty fucked up right now in chile, but i can't even imagine what the bay area would've been like had it been hit with an 8.8. considering the chilean quake was about 700 times stronger than what hit haiti, it seems like they're taking things ok.

oh, and i just noticed your PM on the 81...sent a reply, don't know if i missed the bus there or not

hi there guys , Finally ive got light and intrernet tonight at 12:55

some towns in chile has just dissapear because of the fucking tsunamis, mostly in the south of chile where the earquakes hit more harder

colonel kurtz : chile is pretty fucked up anywhere

in chile the design of the buildings are somehow good so thats it because "it doesnt look so terrible" ( in santiago )comparing to Haití earthquake . but believe me , this is awful!

i dont have so many words to share right now,

but thnks to US and all the others for the help for those who need it really now

and thnks for the comments

all of east coast australia was put on tsunami watch, but all we got was an extra foot or two of swell (i live in a country town on a beach at the moment) it was a good surf

thkns to all

news :

today the local news are showing the dissaster

its unbelievable ,everything looks like a hollywood movie,

the highways are not available to travel because most of them are with very important structural damages....
