8Dio ZEUS

well it's not about the single sounds, i'm sure this is pretty much tweakable...

imho it's impressive in terms of realism, especially the cymbals,
it sounds like a drum kit and not like sampes played back
like most of the other virtual drums.

my guess is they're premade loopz :)

People would buy multi-sampled loops of someone playing a drum solo?

No, I don't think they'd see a market in premade drum loops other than for the cinematic stuff. This is the real thing.

"New Zeus demos showing different sides to this majestic drum library. Zeus comes in around 18GB and 40.000 samples heavy. We sampled hats and cymbals twice using both conventional sampling and flow-note sampling, so you have both options. The custom Zeus flow-note technology is the best choice for faster playing in order to get a cleaner mix and more realistic sound. Zeus contains 11 microphone positions (ex. kick drum mic, top and bottom mics for snares, two sets of mics for toms-toms, exhaustive cymbal mics etc). More demos and videos coming soon. We have the BEST completely 3D rendered UI for the library – can’t wait to show you all."

Sounds cool.

i thought it did sound pretty realistic, it's just those base sounds are not that great, but i guess they are fairly raw and ready to be processed....but with that kick for example, it would save time to just sample replace it. but if i replace a sample with a sample, wtf am i doing with my life?

that "stacking sound" problem is definitively what i have always struggled with,
be it BFD 1, AD, BFD2, EZ, S2.0, SSD, and the newly tried BFD3 demo. really stoked about this!

oh and yeah, i'm not a 8dio fanboy, i own some of their stuff but as a company i'm not really a fan of them.
they follow that typical everything is great until you pay them rule.
as soon as they have your money they tell you to go fuck yurself, not nice :D

The snare/toms tremolos and transitions between sound really good which is where most sampled kits fail. I wish they posted high quality samples I can hear that awful SoundCloud swoosh compression on the cymbals.

...hope i'll get my license today. i have preordered like 30 sec. after it was posted on facebook, so i hopefully first come, first served...:D

For a site that's almost exclusively used to stream music, it is hilarious and terrible that it consistently does that weird swoosh thing to cymbals haha.

I'm kind of stupid and thought the producer Zeus was somehow affiliated with this, and was confused because I thought it would sound like The Acacia Strain.

My friend's band's two EPs were mixed by Zeuss. He used SSD on their second (first EP was real drums).
