A acoustic ballad rock/metal tune, BLS/southern style..

This sounds wonderful! I LOVE IT :notworthy Awesome production, great singer, great song, emotions. After listening to it a couple of times..I even say, It has some commercial potential. This is a serious clash of awesome qualities!

The only element I have to criticize, is the fact the drums sounds a bit too punchy for the silent moments in the beginning, but that is counting peas.

Hey Bob!!! Long time no see, man. Can you do NO wrong?
This absolutely rocks. I've loved this jam from the time I heard it on your alternate soundclick a while back and I couldn't understand why (at the time) you were saying it wasn't done, but after hearing what you've done with it... Man....

Nice tune and great sound!
The acoustic sounds wonderful and I love the snap in the snare (what programme is that?). Guitars sound nice and full and the voice sounds totally pro. 10+, man!

Wow.. cheers guys! I was not sure if this would go down well at the metal forum here, but im glad to read you dig it.

Good call on the punch in the drums at the easier going parts Felix, i might actually go back and automate them a bit.. hermie, cheers man.

Joey: Drums are AD drums, processed to hell and back with a huge verb, some sampling and some SSL compression.

Amazing stuff!
I didnt expect that kind of voice to kick in, but it sounds _GREAT_.
Id like to hear a reverb'ed delay on the snare though, it sounds a bit dry in the middle of the ambient sounds(Sounds good when the song breaks out though.).. but im REALLY picky about my snare-verbs(As you prolly know im an 80's douche.). ;)

80's snares rock! any tips though? probably something huge with lot's of pre-delay on it..

Automation ftw :kickass: Holy shit man, keep us updated about the progress. Is it your composition/ your band? Will there be an entire album then? I want mooooaaaar.

Well, it's a internet project i started a few years ago with Scott Cash from the forums here.. i found him on soundclick and he has a great voice and made some really nice tunes, so we got to writing a few tunes and exchanged ideas.. this was the first one we wrote, and yes we will get more songs done.. not sure about a album or anything, but we'll see how things go.

As always, having to work with a more mellow side in music when you blast metal and mix metal non-stop, is really nice.. :)

For the slower part in the beginning i would aim more at a delay then reverb.
First put a delay on it(~40wet, "enough" feedback, delay on 16-note repeat.), on top of that put a reverb with a low early relfection, high diffusion and low decay(It should be kind of roomy.).

This is kind of what i mean(Just threw in the plugs and tweaked the wet signals though.): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/876568/snaredlaysample.mp3

Adjust the wetness on the delay so that its not really too clear in the mix, but it should add some more room to it.
As it is now, it sounds kind of weird because everything is so ambient/wet, and then you have that really dry snare sound in the middle.. so it feels kind of out of place.

Great sound. That acoustics sound big, how do you do it man???
Congrats.

The acoustics are a Martin D1-R into a Shure SM27/Behringer Ultra-Voice. About 6 inches from the neck on an angle. As far as the mixing magic, that is all Bob.
