I don't think it's bullshit. If the protesters act violently, the NYPD has every react violently. It's already been reported that the poliece have found some weapons beeing carried by the protesters. You've got to fight fire with fire.

I mean, I experienced that when there were protests during the International Monetary Fund (or is the name right?) in my hometown and I can tell you most of the dirty junkhead freaks breaking stuff and setting cars on fire did not have a fucking clue what the IMF was about. And our fucking liberal politicians were almost about to clap their hands. Then we read in our newspaper that the police response to it was "too cruel", after only a few assholes had gotten arrested. The police could do much more to protect the civilians from crazy half-brained gaywads, destroying our city.
