A different kind of music photography

I just completed one of my more interesting photographic endeavors... shooting a drum kit. These were pictures for a cymbal endorsement (Saluda Cymbals). The kit is owned by a friend of mine, Dave Fender. He bought all the Tama Superstar toms one at a time off E-bay and refinished them, by hand. He also made the Octobons from scratch.

Wow!! Huge kit! I'm visualizing our petite Ms. McBURRain on it!

That is just WAY overboard!!! Too much time setting up and all, and just too busy to look at let alone play!! He doesn't actually play that kit live, does he?

That's just too insane for my membrane! red7of9, you hit it on the head with SETUP TIME!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention the Uhaul you'd have to rent everytime you wanted to transport them! Whew!

They have a time lapse video they tried that took one hour setting it up. It's a really cool kit. He usually uses a stripped down version to actually play.
