Muting/silencing drums & cymbals for music video shoot

I would say use one of the many ways to mute the kick, snare, and toms. But, don't really worry about the cymbals.

The bass frequencies are going to be the most disturbing part of the kit. Those low frequencies are going to be what is causing the rattles in the lights and traveling through-out the building. The high end should dissipate quickly. Especially if you cover the entrances in blankets or something of the sort.

Go in there if you can and test a couple crash cymbals. have someone outside the room see if it's too loud.

The night session would be a good idea as well.
