A good mixing room = a good drum room? yey or neigh?

So im gonna start buying acoustic treatment that i can pin around my room , so far i've been reading up on it and one thing still gets me , if its a good mixing environment i.e. no standing waves then would it be suitable for drumming? or is the plywood approach that glenn talks about a better idea?
