Hi,
I'm currently writing a book on Saxon and have kept in touch with Saxon members whilst revising for the project.
I recently asked Nigel Glockler some questions regarding the new Saxon album and drummer. I was intrigued to know whether he had any input relating to the music and lyrics. I also asked whether the loss of Fritz Ranbow would mean a return to the Saxon skins for Nigel.
This is what the great man had to say:

Hi Craig,
Thanks for the email and a thousand apologies for not replying sooner!!
Jorg, who has replaced Fritz is a really good player - he was in a band that
supported us on a European tour in '90 and has played with loads of German
bands.
As regards Fritz's input on Lionheart, i've really no idea - and sorry, but
i won't be going back - i've got too much stuff to be getting on with.
Doug and i have a back- log of material so when we get some time we'll get
stuck into it.
There just aren't enough hours in the day!!!!!
All the best,
Nigel.
PS Thanks for the compliment re "huge boots"!!!! - much appreciated!!

All I can say is, What A Guy!
If you have not bought the album 'Mad Dogs & Englishmen' (Nigel & Doug's project) yet, I implore you to do so. There are some wonderfull tracks on the album that indicate just how important Nigel and Doug are to the 'Saxon' sound!

To buy the album, visit the link Nigel provided above and say that I sent you!

Cheers,
Craig
