HPF'd the rhythm guitar and it sounds a lot cleaner in the drop

Cool intro - reminds me of Type o Negative
Snare could use more definition on the march

Once the band kicks in at 1:45 - I would bring up the drums as the drums will solidify the cool groove you got going on

Listening on: Headphones, boombox

Thanks man that's the stuff I needed to hear. I raised the snare and kick just a bit plus I raised the bass to fill in some much needed holes in the low end and also redid the levels on the rhythm guitar since it was kissing the ceiling of the aux bus.

Liking the bass filling those holes

bout .50 seconds in there is a cool 2nd guitar? with delay or something - I was hoping that would be the vehicle that builds into the band coming in...
It intensifies but then whimpers out

perhaps the gtrs need to come down volume wise once the band kicks in? Really wanting to 'feel' that cool groove from the kick and snare
Not sure if you are gain staging and limiting each of the master channels but that is a huge way to gain clarity

Usually once i get in my head the balance I hear with the limiters in place (snare esp) - I remove the master channels with the limiters and re-balance the instruments

really diggin the direction, good stuff

Really good stuff here. The guitar around 50s I initially wanted to be the one to set off into the drop but I liked the idea of the guitar sort of tolling but I'm still messing around with what will work there. As to gain staging, I don't do that, but I certainly will after watching some videos. I saw some people hover around -10db which is foreign to me because I'm used to pushing my master around 0db . Having said that, I do use Maxim as a mastering limiter on my master channels. I probably have to just go back, reset the faders and try to be really conservative with my levels. Thanks again man :)

Edit: So I got everything to sit nicely at an average -5db. All the headroom is very nice. It clears things up very much. Anyways here's the updated version.

Way better man. I felt the groove when it came in too - great job

So now that we have more headroom...
The intro guitar sets the rhythm but then the marching snare comes in and fights with it.
Let the guitar be the time keeper so to speak and lock the Snare and the crazy guitar in to the intro guitar that time signature.

And when the crazy guitar drops out - how bout a sucking sound (backwards cymbals, pad etc) that really emphasizes that everything is gone except the intro gtr/bass again.

Back again after a long week. I messed around with the intro a little bit. I have a sucking sound that I can make work if I work on the levels of it. The snare is still crap in the marching part because I didn't want to mess with the snare volume before automating it. My main focus was adding a part after when the band came in. I love when the two guitar parts come together in the end to sound awesome and dark as hell. Anyways, here you go.

Edit: Okay. Now I have a lame attempt at vocals. BUT I did tighten the hell out of the guitar(s) doing some nice eqing.

EDIT: It was a free day today don't judge.... I killed a lot of the harshness and got the levels pimping except for the damn snare yes no maybe so.

Good job on cleaning up the harshness
I like the vocals and placement as well
What I am hearing though is the balance between the intro (louder) and when the band comes in (quieter) seems off
Turning down the intro would help balance the mix out / or re-balancing when the band kicks in to match the level and clarity of the intro.
Also, see if you can place the snare in the same setting (same feel using effects) as the guitar/bass - making em sound like one thought
