A question for Glenn.....

The answer is "yes."

The best story was that the guy kept bitching loudly at my crew during the band's set (this was after putting up with him all damn day & previous evening at the hotel). He kept bitching that he couldn't hear out of his monitor (the one in front of him on the floor). After listening to his shit, my guy told him "no problem." He promptly walked out during the set, unplugged his monitor completely in front of the audience, and left him dry the rest of the set. It was *great.*

That is hilarious!!!

One story I heard (not sure if true) was a band member tried to get his friends a free room at the Granada by saying they were a part of the band. Having not met you he had no idea you were right next to him as he attempted this and from what I heard you took him outside and promptly chewed his rockstar ass off.

wow that is funny, I would have love to have seen that. LOL. I guess some people have too much ego and arrogance to speak with their brain and not their ass. :p

C'mon-- give up some names! Haha...

I worked at one of the Metal Edge tour shows this summer, bunch of lame-ass bands anyway, Dokken, Ratt, Warrant, and LA Guns. Dokken's drummer Mick Brown was a real... well, let's just say not cool. I escorted a friend backstage hours before they were to go onstage to get her a photo with a few band members. When we asked Mick Brown if he wouldn't mind, he said "I could care less, as long as I don't have to f#$%ing do anything." I said, "On second thought, we've only got 26 exposures left in this camera, better save them for something important".....

Then there was drummer Bobby blotzer from Ratt. I'm working my ass off setting things up, when he comes strolling by. I said hello and addressed him by name, to which replied, "That's my name, don't wear it out", and just kept walking.

It's pathetic when a band only sticks around because they can't bear the thought of getting a day job. They don't write any new material, no one will give them a record deal, they have only a few paying fans left, and they don't give a damn about them anyway. It just underscores how cool all the bands at PP3 were.

I myself think that some of these bands or band members forget where they come from....and so the egos take place....some of them need to remember the people is the reason why they are on stage....and what makes them their cash....bands like that do not need to exist....show some appreciation for Christ sakes....but most of the bands i have met have been very cool

speaking about all of the negativity. Has there been any bands that were really humble and nice?? You can at least mention named for that. :p

Just from my experiences on the ProgPower crew, these guys stood out as all being really cool and laid back...

Balance of Power
Threshold
Angra
Silent Force
Devin Townsend Band

Not to say that any of the others weren't, but these guys are the first to come to mind.

within the last year? ANGRA, ZERO HOUR & OMEN... hands down! :headbang: I have *never* meet an entire band like these that were so down to earth and willing to go the extra mile for there fans off-stage.

There have been several well-behaved musicans/bands out there I have met, but you can expect one or two band members to be having an off day, sick or having personality issues and be somewhat surley with others from time to time. But for the most part, are fairly nice to the fans.

There are *some* musicians out there that forget that if it wasn't for their fans... they wouldn't have a career!

I haven't had a problem with any band as a whole. All have been professional. I can only single out those bands that went out of their way to be gracious to me and easy to get along with. Just because they aren't on my list, doesn't mean they aren't a good person. I just simply didn't get a chance to spend time with them or they didn't leave an impression.

From ProgPower I: Every single band

From ProgPower II: Evergrey, Angel Dust, Balance of Power, Dan Swano, Superior, John Macaluso from ARK, Steve & Rick from Steel Prophet, Russ & LePond from Symphony X

From ProgPower III: Devin Townsend (the greatest guy EVER to work with..sound check was simply the funniest thing I have ever heard), Threshold, DC & Alex from Silent Force, Zero Hour, Reading Zero, Edguy, and Edu from Angra.

Terrific ambassadors for progressive music.

They sat a few rows behind me on the plane ride home and all I heard was laughter back there ... They even have one of the stewardesses back there telling stories and laughing with them! Nice guys ... :)

I totally agree with all of you. Zero Hour were some of the coolest dudes ever.
Other bands who I found to be very friendly and approachable:
-Evergrey - Not only at PPII, but also at PPIII, and for sure at PPIV.........etc. They are always seeking contact with people.
-Angel Dust - Too bad they split up. Their guitarist (Ritchie) is one of my best friends over here in Indianapolis.
-Balance of Power - Very friendly.
-Angra - Very down to earth (spoke in Portuguese and Spanish with them).
-Hansi Kuersch - Very friendly and approachable. It is understandable that he could not spend as much time with a person because eveybody wanted to meet him.

Overall, all the musicians I met were friendly and approachable. And also the ones I did not meet seemed to be great human beings and were having a lot of fun interacting with people. This is what I love about ProgPower....it is like a family.
Can't wait for PPIV!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Threshold were all very nice guys and humble. When I got to the autograph table Mac actually remembered me, and others, from their show. We checked out of our hotel at the same time they did and they spent a long while talking with us.

I didn't get to meet Hansi or any of BG at Prog Power, but I did get to meet them in Detroit and Cleveland later in their tour, and they were very nice. They stood outside in the snow by their bus to sign everyone's autograph and they were quite sick.

There were so few people at the Angra shows I went to that I got to spend quite a bit of time with them. They are all extremely nice. Kiko seemed rather quiet but was still friendly, and the rest were very open.

Tobias from Edguy was really nice.

And like everyone else said, Zero Hour was great. The brothers talked to everyone as if they already knew them.

Edu and Felipe from Angra were some of the nicest guys I have met. I was one of the "fortunates" that had the opportunity to eat dinner with them.

Zero Hour is top of the list with the coolest/nicest people EVER!! When Dustin and I saw them in San Fran. with Sym X (which should of been Blind Guardian but I definately preferred it the way it turned out..) they actually remembered me from Progpower and I really hadn't talked to them that much- I couldn't believe it!! They didn't even seem that bothered by me hanging around them all night in my "drunken" state- what troopers!!! I can't wait to see them play live again (probably sober..)

Threshold was really nice too. I chatted with them @ the pre-party show while they were hiding in the corner playing pool.

I can't wait to meet whoever I'm going to meet this year!!!

Personally, if a band member is rude to me, I have no problem throwing their cd back in their face. If it wasn't for dedicated fans like us, they wouldn't even be where they are and they can NEVER forget that...

The guys from Zero Hour really were the nicest ones in the festival... They even took me and a couple friends to their hotel room, showed us their equipment, and even took us to lunch.. they were great!
