Hey all, first post! A quick question for Steve: when called upon to play a solo, are you thinking in terms of scales, modes, etc., or do you just completely let it flow and not think about it at all? I'm thinking particularly about your stuff at the end of "The Philosopher," and "Echoes of Forever." Improvised? I'd also like to thank Steve for being cool enough to personally answer my email from way back about music school and practice tips. It's not everyday someone a lot of people admire is so easily accessible. Cheers!! If anyone's interested, check out my band at Shameless Place.
