I've just finished recording our new demo this week and I just finished my first work in progress mix and i have the feeling that something is missing in there and that there's too much treble. This is the first time i recorded a full band so point out the things that sound wrong in your ears so that i can improve them in the future .

some details on the recording:

drums are a pearl export kit with a sonor brass snare, paiste ride and hihat and istanbul and paiste crashes. Not the best gear in the world but the drummer is an animal :kickass:
used mics: beta 52 on kick, sm57's on snare and all toms, a pair of AKG C1000s on overheads and a sennheiser e614 as a roommic.

guitars are JCM 900 4100 head on lead and my laney vh100r on rythm. Both going through my orange 4x12 with an sm57 placed off-center on the upper left speaker. Both guitarists played Gibson SG Specials and we sometimes used an EHX Stereo memoryman w/ Hazarai for solo's, crazyness,..

bass is my ashdown MAG300 head with 4x10 cab with my proco vintage rat in front and an sm57 and beta52 as mics.

ow yeah, i wanted to go for that Red Sparowes / Russian Circles sound so not for a typical metal sound.
