cool... i barely remember that album, so it's cool someone does.

i think it's just that most everyone here knows that AW is a very keyboard driven band.... plus they are very well done and are written, designed and very much intended to be featured prominently. it would be a shame to have them much lower... they need to be heard and are critical to the emotional impact of the songs. they certainly aren't louder than the orchestra and keys on Dimmu's DCA, which is the archetype for this sort of thing, IMHO.

to each his own though. :)

I think Dimmu Borgir's Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia is the archetype for this type of stuff actually... sure DCA had some singles on Headbangers Ball and stuff but I'm pretty sure Puritanical was more influential overall

pretty cool album by the way

yeah, i was referring only to the quality and level of the keyboards/orchestra though, not how influential, popular, or (subjectively) good the album was... and i said "IMHO". ;)

back OT.... it's on sale at Best Buy stores for $9.99, at least it was yesterday... despite being marked $12.99. get it while the gettin's good

I definately hear the DCA vibe going on. Great songs ken, do you remember what synth you guys used on acolytes? the arpeggiated bit around 1:30. I was talking to james about it and he said it was a hardware synth.

I can't stop listening to floods as well. All around though a great album, everyone should pick it up.

I'm really looking forward to picking this up, but one thing I liked even more was that "Born of Fire" project you posted awhile ago - has that been released?

I'm going to, I just have to ration purchases out pretty thin. If it's $10 at Best Buy I'll grab it there - apparently I missed them coming through San Antonio last Saturday, if I weren't a twit I would have bought it from them directly but it looks like I'll be hitting the stores soon.
