About the Downfall compilation...

Hey guys..im new to the boards but I am very curious on if you guys still plan on doing the compilation for this song...I have already talked to bob vex about playing the solo and i have learned it to about 180bpm right now...if thats good enough I can probably give on of you guys a recording this week...if u need it 199bpm then I can do that to...might take a few extra days tho
 
oh..well thats cool...can u send me it by any chance on aim (Hanna0311) or e mail (fieldy0311@aol.com) im kinda curious as to what it sounds like
 
actually to be quite frank, stoned and drunk did a very very sloppy solo, granted hes only been playing a year, and practices a LOT MORE than any other board member probably. But it is not accurae at all and the recording itself is not good quality. Im not trying to be a jerk stoned, but when i thought about this i was hoping we could get the solos as accurate as they are on the actual song. for as long as youve been playing, stoned, you are amazing, but for this recording i want to go with something more accurate.
 
hey stoned, if you want you can def do the rhythym, but lets try and keep it to one section per person. Its just fair to all the other people that want to submit. If I may, check out this recording program stoned, it might be a little bit more versatile than the one you are using,

Its called quartz audio master, and its free up to 4 tracks.
it has an EQ and some effects on it too, if you need em.
 
I use Cool Edit Pro... But is that rythm good enough? Cos i dont feel like recording that again :p But if i have to, ill do...
 
I can give the solo a try. I just play it at 199 and send it to you bob? You'll figure out where to paste it right? Seems like kind of a bitch to me, finding the right spot and doing all that zooming and precise work.
 
i wanna hear other peoples renditions of the solo as well...and I can play it at 199...but i have only practiced the solo 2 times before that is why...not to mention...i believe i have sent u a sample clip of me playing some random bs bobvex and it really wasnt anything...but u can judge from that if u want me to play the solo or not...if serge does a good job u might as well take him cuz it may take me a week to get my hands on some decent recording equipment
 
Yeah, I'm practicing the solo using a gp4 I got over at mysongbook.com right now. I pretty much got the whole thing except measures 170, 175, and 176 are the only ones that are giving me a bit of trouble for now.
 
same exact thing that happened with me...i just play it right to the gp4 file...but that quick little sweep that alexi does after the quick opening lick to the solo seems right except for the last section of it that is not a sweep...it doesnt seem like that is the way to do it for some reason
 
^ ok that didnt make the least bit of sense...lets just say the end bit of bar 170 where he doesnt sweep...it sounds right sped up...but it doesnt seem like the right way to play it...i just keep going downward with the same sweep pattern instead
