Accept: Blind Rage this July

So far, it's much better and more immediate than Stalingrad. After Stampede, the songs become increasingly melodic.

Final Journey has this nice Priest build up!

Love all the references in Dying Breed

I agree.

The release has a different vibe than BOTN or Stalingrad. Mark sounds less like Udo, and although Accept hasn't stepped out of the box of being Accept, they did slide a foot out. They still have the signature gang vocals on some tracks, but also added some harmony vocals on other songs, just for example. There is more melodic stuff here, but still enough rockers to keep the adrenaline up. Still too early for me to give a full evaluation, but I am definitely digging it and it is growing on me quick. This legendary band is adding to their legacy in a big way. Wolf....... he is just a ridiculously awesome guitarist. He is far from the only guitarist that I envied the skills of, but he is the ONLY guitarist I ever wanted to sound EXACTLY like. Though that is not the case any more, it wouldn't hurt my feelings either....

Absolutely !! Accept may not give you the most thought provoking lyrics in the world (though some are mind you, like some in Wanna Be Free) but these guys are themselves one of the founders of metal. To give kudos to those other roots bands is absolutely first class !!!

God bless Accept. And to those who are athiest or other, long live Accept !!

Not a fan but they were in the Best Buy ad today. Never thought I'd see that. Pretty cool.

Pull up some videos from youtube and see if you like them. I don't like to..... errr... push bands on people too heavily, but their biggest strength is that they give you more and more, the more you listen. They sound like a cross between AC/DC and Priest when you first listen, but they really offer much more than is immediate (absolutely no offense to the legendary AC/DC and Judas Priest, mind you.) Accept really offer outstanding musicianship and songwriting. It just isn't always immediate.

Update: eMusic has Blind Rage available now. (MP3 vbr average bitrate 301 kbps). Price at eMusic is $6.99 for members with a subscription, $9.99 for non-members.

Both 7digital and eMusic are very high quality with the edge given to 7digital.

Had it about a week myself now. It is amazing that they can keep up this consistency. Tough to call as far as where I like it compared to BOtN and Stalin, because they basically all kick ass. Accept is on fire !! Sure, it isn't for everyone here on this board, but what they do, they do it VERY WELL !! They are consummate professionals in every way.

They are the most consistent metal band period at the moment since their return.

Saxon begs to differ.

I can agree, but in opposition to Accept, Saxon never really "quit". Never more than 3 years between albums as far as I remember. That being said, Saxon has been releasing very good to excellent albums from 1995 to 2013...

The last 3 Accept albums are also great and it's a killer comeback indeed.

Saxon begs to differ.

I won't take anything away from the mighty Saxon, and I agree they are still amazing and have been for MANY years. I just prefer that "Accept sound." Those huge gang vocals, Wolf's incredible since of melody and ability to combine blues and classical, and Peter's driving bass......... hell all of it. They aren't technical juggernauts, but their whole is exponentially greater than the sum of the parts. They are a well-oiled machine whose singular mission is to kick your ass !! They have succeeded in spades in my ears !!!
