Big fan of these guys. Their sound is like Judas Priest and AC/DC thrown in a blender with a little bit of proto thrash in for good measure and I love it. I own most of their early releases with Udo Dirkschneider on vocals and my favourite album would have to be either 'Breaker' or 'Restless and Wild'. It seems their only big hit was 'Balls to the Wall' and while being a good song, doesn't stand up to most of their other work IMO. Their new vocalist Mark Tornillo is a pretty damn good replacement for Udo and I think that their 2012 album 'Stalingrad' is one of their best and showcases the best of Wolf Hoffman's guitar talents.

Any other fans? Opinions?

Bryant you are required in the desk. Calling Bryant.

Big fan of Accept. I really love the three albums with Mark Tornillo. The first two ended up being my top album for the respective years they came out.

Yeah 'Blind Rage' has a few good songs, but seems weighed down by some filler ones. My favourite songs on that one would probably be 'Stampede', 'Dark Side of my Heart' and 'Bloodbath Mastermind'. Overall it's not as good and consistent as the albums 'Blood of the Nations' and 'Stalingrad'.

Udo's solo stuff is pretty good too. Man that guy has a voice, like Brian Johnson of AC/DC but better. The album by Accept called 'Eat the Heat' wasn't very good though, they really needed Udo back. David Reece sings on that one and is probably their worst album IMO, sounds like bland generic hair metal to me. 'Eat The Heat' is to Accept like what 'Ram It Down' was for Judas Priest. Meaning it's inconsistent with filler and triggered drums to boot that doesn't sound good at all. Hopefully Accept puts out another one this year or maybe next year.

The funny thing for me is, the only time I ever got to see Accept in concert was on the Eat The Heat tour. Live, the band was really good. Well, at least at the show I saw them (middle act between Metal Church and headliner W.A.S.P.)

Really? That's what you think of Ram It Down? I love that album, so we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

I'm with you on this one too. RID was a transition album between the more pop/glam "Turbo" and the brutal "Painkiller" (and I love those too), but not a bad one.

That would have been a good show, Accept was supporting Eat The Heat while WASP was supporting Headless Children and Metal Church was supporting Blessing in Disguise, am I correct?

Yeah, for me Ram It Down contained a couple of good songs, it's just it didn't strike me as that good of an album compared to the classic ones but it is better than Turbo, though. I will admit 'Blood Red Skies' does contain one of Rob Halford's best vocal performances, and the title track has an awesome guitar solo, but the album seems forced, and the triggered drums sound terrible. 'Painkiller' was the definite return to form. That's just my two cents, anyway.

Yes, I believe it was Blessing in Disguise that Metal Church was supporting on that tour. I got to meet four of the guys from MC before the show and got a drumstick from Frankie Banali. It was a memorable show, particularly since the show was at a club literally right next door to Fenway Park on a night the Red Sox were playing. The show and the game got out at the same time.

Accept (and Vanden Plas) is pretty much GOD when it comes to metal. Wolf Hoffmann is the undisputed guitar champion of the world and Peter MIGHT even be the best musician of the bunch as far as what he does for creating the "wall of sound" Accept delivers. There is simply NO bans that delivers what they do to my ears.

Eat The Heat was pretty bad by Accept's standards, though it wasn't Reece's fault. That release simply did not sound like Accept in any form or fashion. I also agree with the sentiments on BotN, Stalin and BR. I think both Stalin and BotN stand up to ANY release by the band. They are fantastic, epic even. BR sounds like it was thrown together. Love "Final Journey" though. As far as Udo coming back, I thought "Objection Overruled" was really good, but Predator wasn't much better than "Eat The Heat" despite having Cartellone on drums.

I especially love it when Accept write epic ballads. So powerful!

As far as ballads "Princess of the Dawn" is absolute metal royalty in many ways so is "Amamos La Vida."

I would have given a testicle to see Accept and Metal Church together. BiD is one of my all-time favorite releases. EVERY song kicks ass, even the instrumental. Although I am not sure how David would have sounded doing the classic Accept stuff, they still had Wolf and Peter. I am sure everyone got their money's worth.

It was a great show from all three bands.

Objection Overruled is awesome! Songs like 'I don't wanna be like you' and 'Slaves to metal' are kick ass!

Blessing in Disguise is a great album, although I prefer the S/T debut or 'The Dark' a little more.

I think being a Metal Church fan is a good thing. We were blessed with three excellent singers. I prefer Mike, but the first two releases were awesome as well. I also think Ronnie Monroe has a great voice......... unfortunately, the band didn't write great songs with him.

While they didn't necessarily have every song on each of the four albums being GREAT, I think they had a lot of good on each album. Actually, Generation Nothing was almost all pure greatness.

We will have to just disagree on that one. The Monroe era MC was not bad, but on all of them, I found myself skipping some songs I didn't care for. I am happy that you liked them though.... I do love and respect the band.

Balls to the Wall was such a seminal metal album for me. When I was like 12, I heard that song on House of Hair and it just blew my mind. It took a few years for me to figure out what it was, which I discovered on Fozzy's second album Happenstance. I immediately had to find the original, and bought Balls to the Wall the next day. I remember searching 3 CD stores to find that disc! I played the crap out of that record when I was about 14.

I really dug Blood of the Nations - especially Teutonic Terror, which is such a great metal tune. One of the ultimate "pump you up" songs.

Here's me meeting Wolf at NAMM 2016.
