Ace Frehley Anomaly review

So I heard most of the Ace album and the first half of the new Kiss album (I'm waiting until October when it comes out to finish it). Anyways, Ace has some very good songs but the rest is rather bland. I dig the new Kiss album a lot more so far. It has a definite Revenege meets Destroyer vibe. If you're a fan of 70s Kiss, I can't imagine how you wouldn't like this disc.

I was just reading where Doc fired a guy from his management team for leaking the KISS album. They should string that guy up by his balls. I wonder what Gene's gonna do about thi$?!

the new kiss album is sad compared to the ace album. 2 of the kiss tunes are rewrites of poison's nothing but a good time and alice coopers poison

I have heard. I'm staying away from that album much like I did from the Megadeth until it's release date.

the new megadeth doesn't tickle my fancy the way i wanted it to. right now its a soldi #3 on my top 10 of 2009 list.

heard anything of the new lita ford?

I love the new Megadeth. I have heard about four songs from the new Lita Ford and it's so far removed from the classic Lita sound. It's basically industrial rock/metal. I love industrial metal, I'm a huge Ministry fan, I also enjoy some Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, Stabbing Westward, KMFDM from titme to time but Lita is a little late getting on that band wagon. She will simply alienate a good portion of her fanbase. From what I have heard and read Jim Gillette is way too involved in her career, taking the stage with her and stuff like that...

Probably sulk about the fact that he can only get a 747 with a DVD player instead of a 757 with a blu-ray.

I'm going to buy it regardless. And even though it leaked a month early, it's not really going to make a difference in who buys it. Die-hards will. Most other people simply aren't. It's been that way for the past 3-4 years.

I agree the long-time followers will buy. I'll buy it regradless sof the mixed reviews. I'm just curious about the consequences because a similar thing happened with Axl's band remember? They gave the culprit just what he had coming to him. People blamed that guy for the lacking sales, obviously it was poor album...but oh well.

One way or another it's going to leak. You can't stop it. All that matters is the timing. It's not like it's a movie in theaters. Most will listen to the leaked copy and decide whether or not to buy it.

I know some bands have kept things under wraps pretty well. I mean Journey who also issued the album exclusively though Wal-Mart as like The Eagles didn't have their music leaked. I think they each had a track that they issued to radion to create a buzz. It can still happen, but it's a rarity.

Here's my take on the Lita album; it's not bad, the songs aren't horrible, but it's not Lita. It's something that sounds dated now, it's like when Motley did Generation Swine it was over board. The same goes for Lita; 2-3 experimental tracks would have been okay but a whole album?! I think it's stranger still that she's opening for Ryche but she's jumping up on stage mid-Ryche set to do three songs with the band?! That's unheard of. I'm curious how that will go? Also there talk about Lita no having the $$$$ to pay a full band so she elected on going out with Ryche...Who knows? I'd love to see Ryche again, but it appears they'll be blowing right past me this time around...

No, no, no Jim only joins her on stage when Lita is headlining. He sings on her new album and I think he co-wrote quite a bit of the album as well. I haven't heard anything about her touring with Ace it it happens I'll be there for sure. I'd love to see Ace. I haven't seen Lita since '88 when she opened for Yngwie Malmsteen, Black N' Blue were also on the bill.

in an interview about the new album ace said he'd probably tour in 2010. when asked about an opener he said lita ford was the only person he'd mentioned it to but nothing is confirmed
