Hi. My name’s Kimberly, and I had three perfectly good iPods…and I just bought a Shuffle. My rationalization is that I will now go to the gym more. Plus, it’s small, shiny, and purple.

Keeping track of my car keys is a daily challenge, so I’m not sure WHY I felt compelled to purchase a sophisticated piece of electronic equipment the size of a postage stamp. Wonder how long it will take me to lose it, step on it, or run it through the laundry.

For the gym, I use a Creative Labs Zen Muvo V100, the 2GB version.

I like it because it is SMALL yet holds quite a few MP3s. Costs $70 for the 2 GB version.

I also have a 5th gen iPod for the car, but for the gym, this one fits the bill nicely.

Sadly, Creative Labs is phasing out the Muvo line for the new Zen line. Here's what the new Zen line looks like:

It costs $60 for the 2GB version and comes in several colors.

As for worrying about your new player dying - by the time its dead, its obsolete. You could probably get one with twice the capacity for half the price. Isn't technology neat? :)
