Admantra

I scanned thru this one yesterday ... the Symphony X fans will eat it up. By the way .. three or four of these guys used to play in a band called Bride Adorned. A few of the folks here might recall that name from a few years back.

There's a few tracks from the new one at their official site as well. http://www.adamantra.com/

Their debut album was just released yesterday over here, heard some tunes before and they sound pretty good to me! As they're a local band I might go see these guys live this Saturday :) Hoping to hear the debut album fully before that.

Not too bad but I wasnt blown away by this disc either.

I agree with the band logos. At least it isnt the Morpheus font. I am amazed how many bands use that font for their logo.

And its Adamantra not Admantra ;)

You have my full attention!

Bride Adorned is one of those bands that baffles me why they never gained mass exposure/word of mouth. Blessed Stillness is a killer album.

I'll be checking this out after the Amorphis stream is done, and Strato stream... music overload!

More I listen the more I like. Some great instrumental interplay. The singer is someone I will either grow to appreciate, just accept and move on, or will end up not allowing me to like this band in the long haul.

Hmm, really like the guitar lines. Compositions are a little jumpy, but mostly solid. I was expecting to be turned off by the vocals because of some of the comments here, but I actually do like them. Not my favorite style, but works with the music. The guitars are the best thing - very strong. This sounds so much like something to me, just can't put my finger on it. I catch the SymX reference, but that's not the strongest comparable. I'll have to listen some more.

Thanks for posting, very kewl. Overall I like it, very good with talented musicians.

The vocalist is good and the songs start out with a lot of promise but the choruses don't seem to deliver the way they could have. Examples of bands with epic choruses or hooks would be CIRCUS MAXIMUS or THRESHOLD. I know, I know.. they can't all be as good as those bands?
