So I've been having some troubles getting good tones from micing an amp, sometimes it's somewhat passable sometimes it's complete garbage! I'm pretty sure my biggest problem is that all of my rooms are square, I tend to get lots of reverb and reflections. I've thought about building an isolations booth/box, or maybe getting some kind of reflection filter. Are these possibly good ideas for a solution or are there other things I could do?

Thanks!

Does the tone sound good when you're in the room, playing the guitar through the amp?

Also, what gear are you using? and lolzgreg has pictures of his 'isolation booth' scattered about on the forum, which is basically just packs of rockwool surrounding the cab if I remember correctly. So a cheap and easy solution.
