I need a budget mic for VOCALS only. Mostly melodic vocals, no screamed stuff.

I was suprised to see that in US the AKG is more expensive than a AT4040 for example. Here in europe its the over way around. I can get the AKG for around 180 euros.

It would be a sweet solution for us, if the mic is decent and clear sounding.

Anyone used it ?

yeah ive used it about 3 years ago, it worked quite well, we used it to track acoustic guitar with a 414 ive just found the files actually, ill slam them to mp3 and into a rar file so you can have a listen

unfortunately its just one chord strummed so i dont know how much help it will be to you!

i didnt think it was a bad mic at all, but still preferred the 414

from the picture you can tell the 414 is in level with the acoustic guitar soundhole aimed at the bridge, and the 3000B is in line/a bit further down the body from the bridge, aiming towards the sound hole, thats why they sound quite balanced in tone. Unfortunately its not a direct A/B but its something to have a listen to. Oh and i know th acosutic geetar aint there so your gnna just have to imagine it!
