AKG D112 Vs. Audix D6

Hey everyone, I own an AKG D112, and i've heard alot of good things about the D6... anyone use either/prefer either? I know kick drum sound doesn't depend only on the mic, but still
If there is already a thread about this, let me know i couldn't find one
Thanks

my good friend and i did a shoot out between these two mics. we did three tests on each.

first placement was in front of the batter head inside the drum.
second placement was in the center of the drum.
third placement was in the porthole of the drum.

did varying velocity hits for each test. we ended up using the d112 in the port, and the d6 for the floor tom.

i believe we still have the results, so if i remember, ill get em posted.

he made a great blend of the d6 close, and d112 in the port, and its likely that we'll drumagog that blended sample with the mic'd drum.

part of the reason why the d6 has been successful is how little you have to do to kicks recorded with it in a mix with heavy guitars compared to the other staple kick mics(d112, beta 52, etc.). of course it depends on the drum, tuning, beater, and the drummer. i think you could achieve great results with either. i prefer the sound of the d6 over the d112 for modern kick sounds.
