AKIRA

Supposedly a live action version in the works last I heard. I saw the movie when I was very little, haven't seen it since. Not really a manga/anime fan, but i like some of the aesthetics and ideas. Ghost In The Machine is the only other anime I've watched that I remember some of, I liked the concept.

Where can I sign a petition to NOT make a live action version ?

Anywho, AKIRA was quite the experience, I watched it as a kid and it was a trip i'll never forget. I really love sci-fi anime

My first introduction to anime as well. I also like comics and I am also 29.

I'm not much of a manga head to be honest, but predictably for someone my age, I love anything by Garth Ennis.

One of the best films ever imo. Plus the little blue guy's weird moan near the start is hilarious

edit: I'm horrified by the idea of a live action version

akira blew me away when i was 12 years old. i couldnt really make sense of it until i watched it a few years back.

and just for notuern......

Now I'm almost 29 years old and gone back to reading comics. hahaha

I watched a lot of animes and that movie has always been ruling the top position.

You guys read any manga ?

Don't feel bad, I'm 43 and recently got back into collecting when Dynamite released their Game of Thrones adaptation.

Really want the Akira books, too. Read a few of them in College, they were incredible.

Oh yeah, and on an Anime note, apparently the live action Robotech is still being developed by Warner Brothers. Leonardo DiCaprio apparently passed on the new Star Wars so he could work on Robotech instead! I'm curious, and slightly optimistic.

Not an Anime or Manga guy at all, but Akira always stood out a bit to me, but that's probably due to the fact that I was
one of the first guys in Germany to see the actual books in German because my uncle did some of the translation works
and stuff.
I wasn't even able to read properly back then...

Haven't seen Akira in several years. Always loved it as a kid, but I could never figure out wtf was going on. Need to watch it again.
