Album for Album

Haha yeah, I was aiming for it to be funny. It was actually supposed to have a Monty Python-esque feel, but the accent doesn't work on the internet.

I have one Summoning album, Stronghold, and it's ok. The keyboards are too overbearing and I really don't like Tolkien lyrical themes, so it's not my favorite. I'd say 6 / 10 maybe. Also the song with opera vocals makes me want to stab rusty icepicks in my ears.

"Where Hope and Daylight Die" is an absolutely beautiful song. It's one of the few I can stand with female vocals, which are followed by what is probably my favorite Summoning riff of all time.

Stronghold is probably my favorite Summoning album, and yours too, LuminousAether, because the keyboards are more present on other albums as Stronghold is their most guitar-oriented (except for Lugburz but that doesn't really count).

You know it's been like 5 years or so since I've even attempted to listen to Stronghold, I should dust it off and give it another go. I just recently dusted off my copy of ...and Oceans' AMGOD which I loved at the time and I couldn't stand it, it just sounded so lackluster and boring with tacked on rave synths. I'll see what I think of Stronghold later tonight or tomorrow and see if my opinion has changed.

hahaha i love that you are still posting like this

do you still think Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven is only worthy of 5/10 because it has 40 minutes of good music and 40 minutes of samples and stuff?

Your post made me smile, for some reason.
What you said just doesn't tie well with what he posted previously. Actually it's the complete opposite.:goggly:

Come on man. They totally degenerated after Thousand Swords. That album was actually interesting. Everything after that is so fucking rudimentary in concept and execution. Just lick my hairy beanbag, shithead.

As much as I love older sabbath with ozzy don't really think the band is all that strong in terms of their entire career mainly. There are some albums I have not heard but still doubt they even come close to touching the first five, five classic cds straight through is still something a lot of bands can't claim regardless. Sabbath to me is the first five cds and ozzy.

For me Satyricon. I think Satyricon is the first band I have heard so far where I thought to myself the consistency is mindblowing.

first 6. beyond then im not interested, although its not bad (e.g. tech ecstasy). but yeah, sabbath w/ ozzy is "sabbath". the rest doesnt count as genuine sabbath to me.
