Ken Hensley: Blood On The Highway

Jorn: :kickass:
Glenn Hughes :headbang:
John Lawton :worship:

This one crept out of nowhere and I can't stop playing it. I especially enjoyed hearing Jorn sing bits of Heep's Free Me!

Cage - Hell Destroyer
Saxon - The Inner Sanctum
Manowar - Gods of War

And if it counts

Zions Abyss - T.A.L.E.S

I was about to ask how the top ten goes as it mid-year. The problem is that my top one hasn't arrived yet even if I already listened to it, so I don't know if it's fair to put it here. So basically my actual top 10 is:

Metal

1. Saxon - “The Inner Sanctum”
2. Hirax - “Assassins Of War”
3. Cypher Seer – “Awakening Day”
4. Redemption - “The Origins Of Ruin”
5. Thunderstorm – “As We Die Alone”
6. Minotauri – “II”
7. Megadeth – “United Abominations”
8. Masterplan - “Mk II”
9. Allen/Lande – “The Revenge”
10. Jorn - “Unlocking The Past”
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Progressive or non-metal

1. Planet X – “Quantum
2. Kiko Loureiro - “Universo Inverso”
3. Rush – “Snakes & Arrows”
4. The String Quartet – “Tribute To Dream Theater”
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Oustanding recognition

1. Onward – “The Neverending Sun” (the album is a 2003 demo, remastered supposedly this year)

Now my top album as far as listened already is almost a tie between Candlemass - "The King Of The Grey Islands" and Abandoned - "Thrash You"

NP: Clive Nolan & Oliver Wakeman - 'Call To Arms'

Three CDs that will probably be on my year end are:

Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero (Because it's fantastic)
Saxon - The Inner Sanctum (because Saxon always kicks ass)
Megadeth - United Abominations (because of its old schooly goodness....to my ears)

Best shows so far have been:
Lisa Gerrard
Mastodon
Mars Volta (A-Maz-Ing)
Heaven and Hell
Mono

So far Redemption- Origins of Ruin for me with Threshold - Dead Reckoning at a close second.
Still waiting for the new Circus Maximus with high hopes for that one.

Symphony X and Pain of Salvation lead the pack at the moment for me. However, I am still waiting for releases from Iced Earth, Primal Fear, Adagio and Gamma Ray, all of which are bands capable of stellar albums.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Circus Maximus have announced that their album is almost ready for release too. So its definitely too early for a best of 2007 debate.

Most of these are candidates. Nothing is sure yet. Also some of those listed are promo's I received.

In alphabetical order:

Annihilator - Metal
Mechanical Poet - Creepy Tales for Freaky Children
Morgana Lefay - Aberrations of The Mind
Novembers Doom - The Novella Reservoir
Sadist - Sadist
Spheric Universe Experience - Anima
Suspyre - A Great Divide
Symphony X - Paradise Lost
Vision Divine - The 25Th Hour

some I like alot;

Symphony X, Neil Morse, Masterplan, Sun Caged, Trouble, Cage, Abramis Brama, Orange Goblin, Suspyre ... I'm way behind listening to new stuff ...

Albums I've been listening to most are Neil Morse, Trouble and Abramis Brama (some Swedish raw hardrock band that just released a live album).

So far! There're a few more I'm kinda digesting.

Annihilator - Metal
Symphony X - Paradise Lost
Trouble - Simple Mind Condition
Megadeth - United Abominations
