album sales

Overall album sales have been about 20 000 for every Century Media album. I read that somewhere (no, not Villains estimate). It was an interview with Mikael iirc.

Yeah, I remember that too - but it was just a couple of months after Haven was released, so I'd assume the numbers are higher now.

And I read back in 1998 or 1999 (or so) that The Gallery had already sold approximately 25 000.

Here are my (infamous) estimates for numbers of DT-records sold by today:
- Skydancer + Of Chaos (all versions of both CD's alltogether): 15 000 (might be even higher, if the US reissue has sold well - any info, anyone?)
- The Gallery: 30 000 (possibly an exaggeration, but people are buying it all the time, aren't they?)
- The Mind's I + Enter Suicidal Angels: 25 000 (possibly more)
- Projector: 35 000 (at the very least, I'd daresay)
- Haven: 40 000 (CM marketing has done the trick - I have seen Haven at the local Anttila-store among albums from bands like Destiny's Child or Dimmu Borgir)
- Damage Done: 10 000? 20 000? (actually, I have no idea - but it will for sure become the most sold DT-album in less than a year, I prophesize)

So, summing it all up, I'd say Dark Tranquillity has sold more or less about 150 000 albums alltogether - which is an impressive number, but far less than they'd deserve.

I think DD is their biggest commercial success this far.

Will be, yes. But what little I know about metal-CD sales, they don't hit big numbers early, but rather slowly through time. Damage Done has been out for a couple of months, so to assume it has already beaten Haven & co is a bit exaggerating, I'd say. Of course, I might be very wrong with this, and perhaps DD is already selling like Britney Spears, but I doubt it.

I meant that relatively ofcourse. That the sales of DD in this time period are bigger than any of their other album's in the same amount of time.

Oh! Well... yes, sure. Judging by the response of the critics, DD must sell pretty damn well right now. Hopefully that will last for long.

The Last time I checked Damage Done was still doing well at Amazon.com, but still not nearly as well as the new In Flames.

It's a shame bad taste isn't painful.
