hi,
i've only been able to record a track at the time up till now( i've been using a desk for drums and just sending the whole mix as 1 channel) and i want to expand and be able to do all the drums with their own channel and maybe do rehersal/live recordings that i can mix later.
i've found this so far- http://www.thomann.de/ie/alesis_multimix_16_firewire.htm
what do ye think, would it be any good, i've not got an awful lot of money and i'd like to be able to get something decent soon, get to grips with it and get really into recording and then when i've more exerience and know what i like i could shell out for something alot more upmarket. what do ye think, is there anything ye'd recommend above it?

Yeah for that money I'd personally go with the firepod too but I know a guy that has one and thinks its not too shabby either. I consider these type of devices something to keep you busy in the first stages of engineering, trying things out etc
