Aligning guitar and vocals

I am attempting to align with cubase (free warp)the vocals and guitars to get the timing right after a pause when the chorus hits.

When the chorus hits in order to make the impact BIG alignment wise...should the guitars and bass match exactly on the grid what the drums are doing or should the guitars be slightly behind or ahead of the drums to make a big impact. I am having trouble figuring this out everything I try isnt sound right so just want to know what you guys do?

I know the general rule is that drums hit first then bass then guitar, these however are only a few milliseconds apart. I use cubase as well and i usualy edit everything perfect to the grid and use the delay sliders on each track to set the gaps how i want them

Yeah, let the drums kick in a touch before, otherwise the guitars/bass will hit the compressor before the drums and lessen the impact.

Gtrs follows bass which follows drums which follows the grid. Vocals for me usually sit behind the grid to taste, about even with the gtrs, maybe a bit behind.
