All girl rock band

Fuck :l you think so? I'm a bit tired right now, is it too much or just a touch?

Just had a listen, yeah, the delays are too loud in some parts and vocals could definitely come down a bit

If you give the entire mix just a little compression, it'll help glue everything together... after you bring the vocals down... I think the vocals, as a whole, could come down about 1db... maybe 2...

Edit: Are the drums sample-replaced? If so what drum samples are you using?

They're programmed through SSD :) Due to budget and deadlines, so I just threw a couple of mics in the live room had her record every song in a take and then programmed them, so it's actually a mixture of samples, there's like 4 snares and 3 or 4 kicks

But I'd like more opinions on what could improve, apart from lowering vox, probably up the guitars even a bit more? Brighten them up? Also what do you think about the low-end and kick ? etc

I'm a bit lost because it's the first time I'm mixing on the monitors in the studio I'm working now (Dynaudio BM5a), I still haven't learned quite well so it's the big reason why I feel a bit lost atm

I think with the vocal tweaks and bit of gluing, it'll sound just fine... you said you were getting it mastered, as in not in-house, right?

Now that you mention it though, the cymbals could use some love... they are missing some of the lower spectrum love that cymbals tend to have... they could also be brought up a tad... but thats personal preference, I like cymbals.

...you're also missing something in the overall sound of the drum, you don't hear any bleed from the cymbals on its opposite side... which is just weird to me.

What type of sound are you going for?

Nice song and nice band. :)

As for the mix... If you would add some highs on master, it'll be better. And may be there will be no necessity of brightening guitars then.
Also I've hear some bad room sound at the beginning of vocal part. Will it go away after lowering vocals?

Nice mix, nice tune, nice band and you're a lucky bastard....!:heh:
No seriously, this is damn good, the singer's got a great voice and I can't find any fault in the recording. What's it like recording just chicks, do they go like " oh the bass isn't loud enough" or "the backing vocals are too low" or "the bass could be louder" etc., ect., ect., like the guys do??

Final mix sounds really pretty.
However I'd like to add some presence on rhythm guitars, but it's just IMHO.

P.S.: I prefer the second girl from the left. :) What does she play on?

Hey dudes, thanks for the comments!

The second girl from the left is the singer, great voice, great looks aswell :P

In terms of equipment, I cant remember what guitar was used but it was through an Axe Fx due to, as I said before, deadlines, bass was a Wall bass (stupidly GOOD bass) through the Axe FX as well, vocals I can't remember the mic (I'll check it when I get to the studio on Monday) into a Drawmer ME 1969, after all the vocals were recorded and edited I sent them through the Drawmer one more time, all this going into a Soundtrac Mega desk.

any myspace oder website of that band? I love the tone sounds great, good job.

I love Rock music with female voice!:lol:

By the way i agree with the crymbals sometimes they sounds programed. But all the way very good, nice Snare!

keep on rocking

The cymbals sound horridly fake in this new revision... everything else is awesome.

I agree with adding a tad more presence/high end (just a tad) to the guitars...

Its fine without it, though, to be honest.

That's really weird, I did nothing to the cymbals except to lower the HPF so get a bit more "clang" from them, that's it, nothing more lol, weird!

And Andy, the new myspace with the single will open on Monday so I'll give you the myspace then because not even I know the address for it atm

Could it be because the guitars may need a bit more presence to bridge better the high-mid/highs with the cymbals? Cause I really think the guitars may need a bit of a boost on the top end don't you guys agree? I'm only even listening on my laptop as I don't have monitors at home but it does look like it needs a bit of a high end boost (gtrs), rythm and leads

So I'm doing this all girl band...

Still waiting for mp3 to download. My internet is ssssssslllllllllllllllllllooooooooow.

EDIT: Got it!

Sounds really fucking good! My only issues are that the vocals seem a bit loud to me, but don't touch them! This is more of a personal issue I have with pop-ish music in general. Vox always seem a bit too far in front, even on major releases. Also, Chick has a really good fucking voice, and it's awesome that there's no autotune on her at all, but there are a couple parts here and there that sound like they may be a bit off to me. Might be good to throw gsnap or something on just to check certain parts. for the final EP version. Or maybe it's just me. I can't sing for shit so what do I know, haha.
