All Hail True Norwegian Black Metal

Mayhem was instrumental for more than just creating the black metal aesthetic which we (don't) enjoy today... I feel that they are responsible for the sub-genres which have arisen from black metal's supremacy.

And Mayhem are an amazing band. 'A Grand Declaration of War' is cutting edge, and the old stuff is cutting edge for the time it was produced. 'Live In Leipzig' is incredible. The atmosphere and Dead's vocals are amazing. Euronymous' guitar work is cool, and the whole thing is a monument to the summit of an enigmatic music style and philosophy.

To disregard Mayhem is to disregard dark music as we know it today.

The old stuff has way more atmosphere and I will easily favor it
in front of Grand Declaration. But then again, Grand D is an
amazing record, especially for me that also has technical death
metal as my fave style besides black metal. \m/

Everybody must bow before the masters

Well...?

Are you bowing?

Because, when it's cold, and when it's dark, a freezing moon can obsess you!!!
Or so I'm told.

:worship:

Everything here is so cold
Everything here is so dark
I remember it as from a dream
In the corner of this time

Diabolic Shapes float by
Out from the dark
I remember it was here I died
By following the freezing moon

It's night again, night you beautiful
I please my hunger on living humans
Night of hunger, follow it's call
Follow the freezing moon

Darkness is growing, the eternity opens
The cemetary lights up again
As in ancient times
Fallen souls, die behind my steps
by following the freezing moon
