Not sure what to think about this one.
Can't really see this being a hot seller, but you never know.
I would rather JLT do OVER THE RAINBOW again personally.

Legendary hard rock singer Joe Lynn Turner (DEEP PURPLE, RAINBOW, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) will be featured prominently at several shows during the All Star Rock Tour 2011, which will hit the road in North America later this month. The lineup will consist of different founding members and lead vocalists from bands that put a mark on the music industry spanning across decades of countless rock and roll. Other featured musicians include Larry Hoppen (ORLEANS), Robbie Dupree, John Cafferty, David Pack (AMBROSIA), and Joe Bouchard (BLUE ÖYSTER CULT). These hitmakers have come together to tour the world performing both their individual hit songs and singing together on stage.

All Star Rock Tour 2011 will feature a blend of platinum hit songs like "Dancing In The Moonlight", "Dance With Me", "Steal Away", "Smoke On The Water", "Still The One", "Don't Fear The Reaper", "On The Dark Side" and many more.

With an all-star lineup of veteran classic rockers responsible for dozens of gold and platinum records and Top 40 hits between them, this concert will pack more mojo per square inch of stage floor than almost any band we can think of. Backed up by a superstar backup band, they produce an evening of hit songs that audiences know and love, sung by the people that made them hits in the first place.

All Star Rock Tour 2011 dates featuring Joe Lynn Turner:

May 21 - Rochester, NY - The Main Street Armory
Jun. 04 - St. Petersburg, FL - Mahaffey Theater
Jul. 30 - Fayetteville, NC - Crown Theater
Aug. 26 - Reading, PA - The Silo

Uh, yeah, so this is playing here in town (Rahchacha). Funny that I have to surf the webforum of a festival in Atlanta to hear about it. Now remind me, which of these guys was responsible for "Smoke on the Water"? Was that a BOC song?

I'd MUCH rather see JLT with Jurgen Blackmore (or better still, Doogie White with JRB) doing an all-Rainbow set.

While looking for info on the JLT gig, I found what is perhaps a more interesting gig at the Main St Armory in Rochester on June 3rd: Drum Wars with Carmine and Vinnie Appice.

I wonder if this venue ever books actual bands?

This seems like a geezer-friendly version of that Scrap Metal tour the Nelson/Slaughter/Night Ranger guys put on every once in a while, only with people you've never heard of (JLT aside).

Sure, it could turn out to be a great time... but it also has the potential of becoming another "Brett Michaels Sings the Star Spangled Banner" situation...

The Mahaffey Theater takes over 2000 people. Tickets are $ 38 I think. Not going...

And, that is why this place will look like Milwaukee Metalfest in it's last Koshick incarnation......you can actually hear the crickets over the crowd.:lol::lol:

Yeah, but the aqua netted chix who used to see those bands in the 80s would still come out to see a tour like that.

This tour is really going to be a sausagefest, and considering the bands who wrote those songs are primarily active, I just don't see the point.
