Allen/Lande...WOW!!

Heather Shockley

"...Needless to say..."
This album "The Battle" is definitely one of the most beautiful metal albums I heard.
Not only I´m a big fan of Russel Allen, but this mix of progressive style with J.Lande´s more melodic power metal is a reall incredible mix!!
I hade goosebumps the second I started listening...and Russel´s voice is so versatile and warm...feels like paradise should be! :worship:

Yup...pretty cool album...still, in terms of originality, I prefer "Atomic Soul"..."Atomic Soul" is more rocking and in-your-face than "The Battle" is...there is also more variety and much more unique music on "Atomic Soul"..."The Battle" is just another power/progressive metal album whereas "Atomic Soul" is classic rock with a dose of metal...a crazy but still awesome combination that works...

Its even cooler when ya own the Japan release with bonus track.

Well it doesn't seem to be breaking any musical boundaries, but they sure as hell do it better than most other similar bands out there. I like melodic metal of this variety generally, including Magnus Karlsson's Last Tribe and his Starbreaker project. This CD is a fun and easy listening showcase of Russ and Jorn singing melodic songs, with Karlsson providing enough guitarwork to keep me amused. It's a great record; slightly on the generic side, but the combined vocal assault of Allen and Lande and Karlsson writing his usual excellent melodic metal keep it well above standard.

hey does it have massivley good guitar solos!!!!!
Of course guitar solos are the most important thing from a band whose monicker bears the names of two vocalists ;)

sure the actual music is not as---Catchy as I'm used to, some may even find it good, but borring! Needless to say, Russell and Jorne do a fucking amazing job...Sounds really, really good
Not as catchy as you're used to??? What do you normally listen to? TV jingles? The catchiness is one the records strongest points - the singalong choruses and melodic guitar & key lines. ;)
I agree that some people (particularly those who favour more progressive music) might find it boring based on the lack of innovation, but it certainly is a very good album.

I just wondered guys,
"catchy"??!!??
are we sure that's a good thing to say about a song, about an overall album
?!
is this the one word that makes the diference of buying the album or not
cos' I happen to disagree..

take it as a Q..
loved "the battle" BTW
"the forgotten ones" is a GREAT song ! !
