I was just wondering if anyone plans on going to this show? I would really like to attend it since I'm in Philadelphia and only about an hour away (and Symphony X is my favorite band), but unfortunately I can't seem to find anyone to give me a ride, so if anyone in the Philly area plans on attending this show and would be willing to offer a ride, it would be much appreciated. :)

I'm going to the Allentown show, and I live right outside of Philly.....we might be able to work something out. I have no problem giving anyone a lift to the show, I'm going with a couple of friends and my brother. I'm planning to borrow my parents Suburban that night anyway, so there will be plenty of room (I think my Trans Am and my brother's Jeep will be too small to fit everyone!).

BTW, do you go to Temple? I could've swore I've seen you on campus with a Symphony X shirt on......

Yeah, I do go to Temple.... and yeah, you might have seen me sporting one of my Symphony X shirts. :) That would be great if you could manage to give me a ride though.

Yeah, I think we can work something out. Do you live on campus? If you do, would you mind catching a train to my house on the day of the show? I don't want to have to deal with rush hour traffic down there. We're planning to leave my house at 5:30-6:00 or so....it takes about 45min to an hour from my house. I can tell you what train to get on and I'll pick you up at the station.....the station is about a 2 or 3 minute drive from my house. It would be the R5 train, which leaves twice at every hour (once at 29 minutes past the hour, once at 59 minutes past the hour) and the Oreland stop (it's about a 20-25 minute ride). I'll give you more detail if you want to go with us. Let me know your schedule the Wednesday of the show. I'll be on campus this upcoming Friday, next Monday and Wednesday if you want to meet in person before the show. If you're interested I'll give you the times, I have quite a bit of free time in between classes.

I don't know if you've ever been to the Crocodile Rock venue in Allentown, but it's very tiny. Great place to see a band actually, the stage is only a few feet away from the barrier. Sound could be better, though. I've only been there twice, I actually saw Danzig there a couple of weeks ago.....I thought I was going to get crushed to death. Too bad Symphony couldn't come to Philly.....

Yeah, I do live on the main campus. Sure, I can take the train if that's easier for you. Umm, I'm probably going to be done with classes around 3:30-4:00ish on that Weds. I can duck out early from my calc class if I need to though. If you have the time it might be nice to meet up before the show next week. My schedule's pretty light nowadays, so just let me know when you're free and we can probably arrange something.
I've never been to the venue before, but I'm used to the small setting. I saw Children of Bodom/Nevermore at the Trocadero here a few weeks ago and man that place was tiny. Sounded pretty good though.

Not sure if you guys have tickets yet but my band, Winterfell, will be one of the openers and we're offering a discout to anyone who buys their tickets from us. Check out our website or come early and grab us outside before the show.

Damn, I wish I had known about that sooner. I already bought tickets from ticketmaster... I got a $6 charge for a $12 ticket, oh well.

And I wish I would have known about this forum sooner! I sure as hell wouldna waited this long to post...anyway, stop by and say hi sometime that night and tell us what ya think. I'll be the only bass player there with long a$$ red hair.

That's pretty cool! Too bad I'm in Ohio and already seen the gig.
Our tix were $15, which was alot less than I was expecting to pay. I was expecting around $25
$12 is unreal. Borderline on insulting.

I'd just like to say that you guys were pretty awesome last night! :headbang: Unfortunately, the singer kept getting drowned in the music and was hard to hear most of the time. I will definitely check your cd out. It was refreshing to see you guys play after that punk band that opened before you guys...

Winter Fell fucking ruled. I was VERY impressed. The guitarists were ridiculous, and that singer was power metal to the max (which was a good thing). Nice fuckin' job!

Symphony X were unbelievable, of course. The highlights were Evolution, Smoke And Mirrors, Inferno, Sea Of Lies, and of course, The Odyssey. Only disappointment: no Church Of The Machine. Oh well. Romeo is my idol so I just watched him shred the whole time. And what about Allen cracking jokes left and right? He is quite a stage presence, and one of the most friendly people ever.

Yeah, Russ definitely has good stage presence. The band is pretty good at interacting with the crowd. I thought it was funny that one of my guy friends yelled "Russ is hot!" and he responded by saying "I hope you mean temperature man".
All the band members are pretty friendly towards the fans. I got to talk to LePond and Romeo a bit after the show. It was cool that LePond remembered me from Progpower. :)

Seriously, Winterfell were fucking phenomenal. I wasn't actually going in expecting anything great, but Enamored (i think) were pretty cool, i'm pretending the punk band (who i do commend for getting up there and playing) didn't play, and then Winterfell comes on and they fucking shake the very foundations of the Thrones of the God's of Metal.

And of course, Symphony X strolls out and gives us a glimpse of the Holy Metal Kingdom. Russell rocked that house; Hell, all of them did their share of major bone-shattering.

"Sir! Wait...for...four."

OMFG WINTERFELL OPENED?!?! I love this band, even if its just from the 4 song demo I have of em, I can't wait for them to release a full length cd. Kinda wish they woulda been booked to do the whole tour =(
