Ya they have quite the fetish for Opeth, they are one of the most highly rated bands i've seen on there. They are a very consistent band so it's well deserved.

Those are the only music critics I take seriously anymore. Some of their employees are hacks, but most of the time they're pretty objective.

I was hoping for another 4.5/5 for Opeth, and we got it!

Allmusic is great. I love reading their reviews.

I don't think they have a fetish though. I think they are one of the few parties who manages to review products objectively. Of course it's not a 100 % so, but they're really close.

I seriously think that an Opeth album worth of five stars is far superior to any other bands five star album.

I agree with this statement at the moment. I felt the same about Ghost Reveries somewhat, it was a bit of a new sound for Opeth and although I didn't think the album as a whole was great, I was hoping they would follow through and develop that sound for the next album into something much better. But they've gone and done something completely different this time, and again I thought 'this is good, but already I want to hear where they're going to take this on the next album'.

I was worried that this was the first Opeth album in a while which wouldn't get 4.5/5 from allmusic, but damn I'm happy to see people still loves Opeth.
